TH12 Farming Base #7: Storage-Led Diamond Layout for Resource Protection
TH12 Farming Layout #7 looks like a base built with one main idea in mind: don’t let one clean entry turn into a full loot sweep. The Town Hall sits slightly below center, while the overall structure forms a storage-led diamond that spreads important resource buildings through the middle instead of stacking everything on one obvious line.
That already tells you why this base belongs in the Farming category. It is less about making the village look intimidating at first glance and more about making the attacker work for each extra storage.
A storage-led core that slows down loot collection
The most useful feature here is how the storages are placed around the inner diamond rather than dumped into one easy pocket. In practice, that means an attacker may break into one side, grab a piece of value, and still have to commit more troops or spells to keep moving.
That matters a lot in farming defense. A base does not need to stop every raid completely. Often, it just needs to make the second and third storage feel expensive enough that the attacker settles for less than the full haul.
The Town Hall supports the farming role without carrying the whole defense
The Town Hall is slightly offset toward the lower side, not perfectly central and not fully exposed either. That positioning feels deliberate. It gives the core some weight, but it does not make the whole layout depend on one building.
I actually like that choice for a farming base. If everything revolves around a single central target, pathing sometimes becomes too predictable. Here, the Town Hall helps anchor the middle, while the resource protection still comes from compartment layering and storage spacing.
Air coverage is split, and the Infernos are not easy to group
The Air Defenses are split around the inner compartments, and the Inferno Towers are separated enough to reduce simple single-spell value. That may not look flashy, but it is practical.
Against Dragon or LavaLoon attacks, the attacker cannot count on removing the important anti-air pieces in one neat section. The same goes for heavier ground plans like Yeti or Bowler Smash, or even Queen Charge Hybrid. Different entries may work, but none of them seem completely free.
Where the base may be vulnerable
The main weakness appears to be a diagonal push from an exposed storage lane that turns into access toward the center. In plain terms, if an attacker gets a clean break from the lower-right edge, that route may start opening more of the core than the designer would like.
That does not make the base bad. Every layout gives something away. In this case, the trade-off seems to be that one side can be shaped more cleanly, but the rest of the village still asks for extra commitment.
Why Layout #7 works as a Farming base
What makes TH12 Farming Base #7 feel useful is not one gimmick. It is the combination of spread storages, a diamond-style core, separated air defense coverage, and layered compartments. Together, those features make loot collection slower and less efficient.
