TH12 Farming Base #8: Broken-Ring Defense Built Around Spread-Out Resource Protection
TH12 Farming Layout #8 uses a broken-ring structure with the Town Hall near the center, protected behind the main storage line. Looking at the base itself, the design feels intentionally spread out rather than overly compact. Valuable buildings sit in several different compartments, while the central area connects those sections without giving troops one perfectly clean route through everything.
That makes the Farming classification a good fit. A raider may reach one storage or one side of the village fairly quickly, but collecting the rest of the resources requires extra movement, wall access, and time.
The broken ring keeps resource pockets separate
The wall pattern is probably the most distinctive part of Layout #8.
Several compartments almost form a ring around the center, but the path is interrupted at different points. That interruption matters because troops clearing one side may not naturally continue toward the next storage.
Instead, they can be pulled toward nearby defenses or forced to cross another wall section before reaching the deeper resource area.
For farming defense, this is useful. The goal is not necessarily to protect every storage perfectly. It is to make sure that one successful entry does not expose every valuable building at once.
The Town Hall benefits from the storage line
The Town Hall sits near the center, but it is not the first major target available from the perimeter.
Storages and defensive buildings form a wider buffer around it. Because storages have high hit points, they can slow attacking troops while X-Bows, Inferno Towers, Teslas, and other defenses continue firing.
Even when one storage eventually falls, those extra seconds may help another resource pocket survive.
That gives the Town Hall and the remaining loot a kind of layered protection without turning the whole base into one oversized central box.
Air and Inferno pressure stays divided
The Air Defenses appear positioned to cover crossing lanes rather than only one side, while the Inferno Towers sit far enough apart to reduce easy single-spell value.
That spacing helps the base maintain pressure in stages.
Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one air-defense section may weaken while another remains active elsewhere. Yeti or Bowler Smash and Queen Charge Hybrid create different threats, but the defensive idea stays similar: clearing one section should not automatically make the next one safe.
The lower-left edge is the main weakness
The lower-left edge appears to be the easiest side to shape.
The real risk is a controlled entry that breaks the ring before troops begin circling away from the center. If that section is opened too cleanly, the attacker can shorten the distance between an outer storage lane and the core.
Defensively, this side needs to consume something valuable—time, hero health, troop strength, spells, or abilities—before the central resource network is fully exposed.
Why Layout #8 works for Farming
The strongest quality of TH12 Farming Base #8 is the distance and pathing friction between its resource sections.
The central Town Hall, separated storages, broken-ring walls, spread Air Defenses, and divided Inferno pressure all support the same goal: make full loot collection slower and more expensive than taking the first storage pocket.
