TH13 Farming Base #15: Layered-Square Defense Built Around Resource Separation

TH13 Farming Layout #15 uses a layered-square structure with the Town Hall slightly offset toward the lower side of the core. Looking at the actual base, the defensive plan seems centered on one practical farming idea: avoid putting every valuable resource on the same route.

The village is divided into several square compartments, with storages and major defenses occupying different sections. That gives the base some flexibility. One resource pocket may fall, but the next one still sits behind another wall layer and another group of active defenses.

The layered square makes loot harder to connect

The wall structure is probably the strongest part of Layout #15.

Rather than surrounding the core with one simple ring, the base uses several overlapping square sections. Troops moving through one compartment do not automatically receive a straight path toward the next valuable area.

That matters for farming defense.

A raider may reach one Gold or Elixir Storage, but continuing deeper requires more movement and another period under defensive fire. Those extra transitions can protect resources surprisingly well, particularly when the attacking army begins losing time.

The layout is therefore not trying to make the first storage impossible to reach. It is trying to make the second and third noticeably more expensive.

Storages are protected on different paths

The resource buildings are spread around the defensive network rather than grouped into one central jackpot.

That separation reduces the damage from a single successful breakthrough. Even when one section is compromised, another storage can remain behind its own walls and supporting defenses.

Storages also have enough hit points to act as useful defensive buffers. While troops work through one, nearby Inferno Towers, X-Bows, Scattershots, and other defenses continue applying pressure.

The Town Hall benefits from this arrangement too. Its slightly lower position keeps it inside the layered structure without making it the only important building in the village.

Air and Inferno coverage remains divided

The anti-air network is spread across opposite sections, while the Inferno Towers support different routes toward the center.

That spacing helps avoid one obvious collapse point.

If one defensive lane is weakened, another can remain active around a different resource section. This makes it harder for a single spell sequence or one concentrated phase to remove all of the meaningful defensive pressure.

For farming use, that is valuable because preserving even one untouched storage pocket can make the defense worthwhile.

The left edge is the main structural concern

The left edge appears to be the easiest side to shape.

The real weakness is a disciplined corner funnel that creates a straight route through two wall layers. If that lane opens too cheaply, the layered-square design loses some of the travel distance it was supposed to create.

Defensively, this side needs to consume something—time, hero health, abilities, or troop strength—before the inner resource pockets become exposed.

Why Layout #15 works for Farming

The strongest feature of TH13 Farming Base #15 is that resource buildings sit on different paths.
