TH14 Farming Base #17: Storage-Led Diamond Built to Protect Loot in Layers

Town Hall 14 Farming Layout #17 looks like a base that was built with one goal in mind: make the attacker work for every extra storage. After looking at the layout itself, that seems to be the main idea more than anything else. The Town Hall sits near the center, but it is not standing alone. It sits behind the main storage line, which means an attacker often has to deal with tanky resource buildings before getting a clean route into the core.

That small detail matters a lot in a farming base. Storages are not just loot holders here. They also act like roadblocks. A Dragon squad, Hybrid push, or ground smash can start strong, then slow down once those high-hitpoint buildings begin soaking damage and pulling troops off their ideal path.

Why the layout fits the Farming category

The overall shape is a storage-led diamond, and the resources are not carelessly stacked in one easy compartment. Instead, the loot is spread in a way that may allow an attacker to grab one section, but not casually snowball into the rest of the base. That is usually what you want from a farming layout. You do not need every raid to fail completely. You just want each extra pocket of loot to cost more time, more troops, and more commitment.

In that sense, Layout #17 does its job well. A quick hit may reach one storage, especially from a cleaner outside lane, but the rest of the resource area stays deeper inside the base.

Defensive structure and pathing pressure

What stands out in this design is the way the diamond shape creates crossing lanes into the center. The Air Defenses appear to cover those crossing routes rather than leaning too heavily to one side. That may help the base resist air armies that prefer a simple, direct sweep. A Dragon or LavaLoon attack can still hit hard, of course, but it is less likely to enjoy a single comfortable line across the village.

The Inferno Towers are also separated enough to reduce easy spell value. That spacing is useful. If two major defenses are too close, one Freeze or one well-timed push can remove too much pressure at once. Here, the defensive value feels more staggered. One section can be challenged without automatically turning off the whole core.

The weakness to watch

No farming base is perfect, and this one does have a visible concern. The upper-left edge looks like the easiest funnel, and the larger danger seems to be a diagonal push that opens an exposed storage lane and turns that progress into access toward the center. If that first layer falls too cheaply, the attacker may gain momentum faster than the layout wants.

Even so, that weakness is not a collapse point by itself. It is more of a pressure point. The base still tries to force awkward movement after the first breakthrough, and that can be enough to save part of the loot.
