TH14 Farming Base #18: Storage-Led Diamond Defense Built for Layered Loot Protection

TH14 Farming Layout #18 uses a storage-led diamond structure with the Town Hall sitting slightly below the true center of the village. Looking at the actual layout first, the defensive purpose is fairly clear: valuable resources are spread across different sections instead of being placed along one convenient route.

That matters for farming. The base does not need every storage to survive every raid. A more realistic defensive goal is to make each additional pocket of loot cost more time, troops, and defensive exposure than the one before it.

The storages shape the defensive core

The Gold and Elixir Storages are distributed around the central diamond rather than stacked together in one compartment.

Because storages have high hit points, they also work as defensive buffers. Troops can spend valuable seconds dealing with one storage while Inferno Towers, X-Bows, Archer Towers, and other nearby defenses continue firing.

More importantly, losing one storage section does not automatically expose the rest.

The Town Hall sits behind this wider resource network, so the center contains several valuable targets competing for troop attention. From the defender's perspective, that is useful because it can create awkward retargeting and slow progression through the core.

The diamond shape creates several defensive stages

The wall pattern forces the village into a series of diagonal compartments.

Rather than allowing one straight movement through every important target, the layout makes troops repeatedly cross from one pocket to another. Each transition buys the defense a little more time.

That can become especially useful when an attacking formation begins to split.

One group may move toward a storage, while another follows a nearby defense. Heroes and supporting units can end up separated from the main force even when most of the army is still alive.

For farming defense, that separation is valuable. The longer troops spend clearing different sections, the better the chance that another resource pocket survives.

Air and Inferno pressure is deliberately separated

The Air Defenses are positioned around different inner compartments, while the Inferno Towers remain separated rather than forming one easy high-value group.

This reduces the amount of defensive pressure that can disappear at once.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one portion of the anti-air network may fall while another remains active around a different resource section. Yeti or Bowler Smash formations face a similar defensive problem on the ground: the diamond shape can stretch the army between neighboring compartments.

Queen Charge Hybrid may also threaten the base, but the defensive idea remains the same—one successful section should not automatically unlock the whole village.

The lower-right side is the structural pressure point

The lower-right edge appears to be the most exposed part of Layout #18.

Defensively, the concern is the diagonal line from this side. If an exposed storage lane is removed too cheaply, the route toward the center becomes shorter and some of the diamond's travel-time advantage disappears.

This area therefore needs to make early progress costly, whether through defensive overlap, hidden traps, hero pressure, or simple delay.

The base does not necessarily need an immediate stop. Making the first stage expensive may already protect resources elsewhere.

Why Layout #18 works for Farming

The strongest feature of TH14 Farming Base #18 is that the loot is deliberately separated across the diamond.

The slightly lower Town Hall, distributed storages, diagonal compartments, separated Infernos, and spread Air Defense coverage all support one goal: prevent a single clean push from collecting most of the available resources.
