TH14 Ranked Base #6: Multi-Compartment Defense Built Around Central Pressure

TH14 Ranked Layout #6 uses a central Town Hall surrounded by several layers of compact defensive compartments. Looking at the actual base, the structure is noticeably balanced around the middle: the Town Hall sits deep inside the primary defensive zone, while Inferno Towers, Air Defenses, X-Bows, and other important buildings are distributed through separate sections around it.

That makes the defensive purpose fairly clear. Layout #6 is not trying to protect one side of the village at all costs. It is designed to keep pressure alive from several directions and make a full clear increasingly awkward as the raid moves toward the center.

The Town Hall anchors the hardest part of the base

The Town Hall sits well inside the defensive network rather than being offered near an edge.

Several wall layers separate it from the perimeter, and the surrounding defenses create a concentrated pressure zone without being packed into one tiny compartment. This is useful because losing one section does not immediately expose everything around the Town Hall.

The defense can absorb damage gradually.

One compartment may fall, but another Inferno, X-Bow, or supporting defense can still remain active. By the time the central objective is seriously threatened, the attacking force may already be weaker or less organized than it was at the start.

The compartment pattern is designed to disturb troop movement

The walls form a series of connected diamond and square sections around the middle.

That structure appears to have an important defensive job: keep the attacking formation from moving through the village as one clean group.

Yeti or Bowler Smash-style armies become much easier to defend once tanks, heroes, and supporting units start taking slightly different routes. The same principle matters against Queen Charge Hybrid. Even when one compartment disappears, neighboring defensive pockets can continue influencing where troops move next.

The base does not need the walls to stop an army completely. It mainly needs them to create enough hesitation and separation for the defenses to gain extra time.

Staggered air coverage keeps several threats active

The Air Defenses are positioned around different parts of the core, while the Inferno Towers function as separate high-value anchors.

That is a good defensive detail because one successful control spell is less likely to silence every important threat at once.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, the layout appears intended to maintain air pressure across multiple stages. One section can weaken while another still protects the central route. This prevents the defensive network from depending on a single air-defense pocket.

The top edge is intentionally less intimidating

The top edge looks like the most approachable side of Layout #6.

For Ranked defense, that is not necessarily a problem. Allowing some early percentage can tempt the attacking force to spread wider before the most important compartments are reached.

And that is where the layout can gain value.

A very wide formation may split between adjacent sections, reducing concentrated damage and making cleanup slower. The main structural risk is when that opening remains extremely controlled and the army reaches the central compartments without losing its shape.

So the top side does not need to produce an immediate stop. Its defensive job is to consume time and encourage imperfect troop movement.
