TH15 Clan War Base #6: Offset-Ring Defense Built Around Troop Separation

TH15 Clan War Layout #6 uses an offset-ring defensive structure with the Town Hall placed toward the left side of the core, and that separation seems to be the main idea behind the base. After looking at the layout itself, this does not feel like a design that expects the Town Hall to survive every attack. Instead, it appears built to make sure that reaching the objective does not automatically create a clean route through the rest of the village.

That is an important distinction in Clan War. A base can lose its Town Hall and still defend successfully if the attacking army reaches the later compartments weakened, divided, or simply too late.

The Town Hall is separated from other major value

The Town Hall sits inside a dense defensive section toward the left-central part of the village. Several other important defenses remain positioned elsewhere, particularly deeper toward the middle and opposite side.

This separation prevents the attacker from collecting too many high-value targets in one short sequence.

From the defender's perspective, that is useful. An army may commit significant troops, spells, or hero abilities around the Town Hall while leaving another strong defensive pocket untouched.

Layout #6 is essentially trying to make the safest objective route different from the easiest three-star route.

The offset ring is meant to stretch the army

The walls create several connected lanes around the inner core rather than one direct corridor.

That structure appears designed to influence troop movement. Once units begin entering the central compartments, some may continue around the ring while others move toward the Town Hall or deeper defenses.

This is where the base can become frustrating.

Root Riders and other heavy ground units are not especially bothered by walls, so the defense needs something more than simple compartment depth. Here, the walls help separate the front line from heroes and support troops.

Once that happens, the attacking army loses concentration and defensive buildings gain more time to work.

Inferno spacing keeps defensive pressure alive

The Inferno Towers are spread across different sections rather than grouped tightly together. Air Defenses also cover several crossing lanes.

That reduces the value of one perfect Freeze, Overgrowth, or similar control spell.

Even after one defensive area is neutralized, another anchor remains active. Against Dragons or LavaLoon, that can keep air pressure alive throughout multiple stages of the raid rather than concentrating everything into one early fight.

Heavy ground armies face the same basic problem: clearing one compartment does not automatically solve the next.

The lower-left edge is the vulnerable side

The lower-left edge looks like the most exposed area of the structure.

Defensively, this side needs to make attackers pay something before they reach the ring—time, hero health, abilities, spells, or troop strength. If the lower-left section collapses too cheaply, the path around the Town Hall becomes easier to control.

That connects directly to the layout's main weakness.

If the ring beside the offset Town Hall is broken early, troops are less likely to circle. The defense then loses part of the pathing disruption it was built around.

Why Layout #6 works as a Clan War defense

The strength of TH15 Clan War Base #6 is not one overwhelming compartment. It is the way several defensive problems appear one after another.

The Town Hall needs attention. The ring tries to split troops. Separated Infernos maintain pressure. Outer sections remain available for late cleanup.

Overall, Layout #6 is an anti-three-star defense centered on objective separation, troop-pathing disruption, sustained defensive coverage, and cleanup pressure. It may allow attackers to make visible progress, but the real defensive goal is to leave too little concentrated force for the final part of the raid.
