TH15 Clan War Base #14: Offset-Ring Defense Built for Three-Star Denial

TH15 Clan War Layout #14 uses an offset-ring defensive structure with the Town Hall placed slightly away from the exact center of the village. After studying the layout itself, the design appears to be focused less on creating one impossible defensive compartment and more on making the entire three-star process uncomfortable.

The Town Hall is protected inside the lower-central part of the defensive network, while other major threats are spread through the compartments above and around it. That separation is important. Even if one high-value section is lost, several dangerous defenses can remain active elsewhere.

For a Clan War base, that is often exactly what you want.

The Town Hall does not carry the whole defense

One of the smarter details in Layout #14 is that the Town Hall is separated from several other key targets.

Instead of placing every important defense directly beside it, the base forces attacking troops to deal with multiple defensive zones. This may help prevent one strong push from removing the Town Hall, Infernos, and other major defenses in a single sequence.

The defensive value comes from forcing the attack to keep working after the objective has already been challenged.

If troops lose strength during the Town Hall phase, the remaining compartments are positioned to punish what survives.

The offset ring is designed to disturb pathing

The wall structure creates an uneven ring around the core, with several compartments offering similar target choices.

That may cause attacking troops to stretch across the base rather than remain concentrated.

From the defender's perspective, this is particularly useful against Root Riders and other heavy ground armies. The walls alone will not stop those troops, so Layout #14 uses the compartments to influence where they move next.

If the front line goes one direction while heroes and support troops drift elsewhere, the attacking force loses much of its combined strength.

That also reduces the value of Rage, Heal, Freeze, and Overgrowth spells because fewer troops can benefit from the same spell area.

Defensive spacing keeps pressure active

The Inferno Towers appear deliberately separated rather than grouped into one compact pair. Air Defenses also cover different crossing lanes through the village.

This helps reduce easy spell value.

Even if one defensive anchor is temporarily controlled, another may continue applying pressure from a different compartment.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, this spread can make the base especially annoying. Air troops may clear one section successfully only to enter another zone where fresh defenses are still operating.

The layout therefore relies on continued pressure, not one short burst of damage.

The upper-right side carries extra responsibility

The upper-right edge appears to be the most exposed funnel area.

Defensively, this side needs to slow the opening enough for the offset ring to remain effective. If the upper-right compartments disappear too quickly, the attacker may gain better control over troop direction and create a shorter path toward the core.

That makes this area a logical place for defensive trap pressure.

The goal would not necessarily be an instant stop. Forcing early hero abilities, slowing troops, or disrupting support units could already strengthen the rest of the base.

Why #14 fits Clan War

The real purpose of TH15 Clan War Base #14 is to make several parts of a three-star attempt succeed in the correct order.

The Town Hall must be handled, the main army must remain together, the ring has to be crossed efficiently, and enough strength must survive for the final compartments.

If just one stage becomes messy, the defense gains time.
