TH18 Farming Base #11: Layered Resource Protection with a Lower-Right Funnel
Town Hall 18 Farming Layout #11 has a fairly balanced look, but the way its storages are positioned makes it more interesting than a simple symmetrical farming base. The Town Hall sits slightly above the visual center, surrounded by several compartments rather than being pushed into one corner. Gold and Elixir Storages are then distributed around that inner area, so an attacker who reaches one resource pocket still has work to do before collecting everything else.
That staged resource path is probably the strongest idea behind the layout. Instead of lining every important storage along one obvious lane, the base spreads them through different sections of the diamond. A quick farming raid may pick up one Elixir Storage and some collectors without much trouble, but continuing toward the next storage can require another wall transition or a change in direction.
From the screenshot, the lower-right edge looks like the most practical place to start an attack. There is enough space around four or five o’clock to clear a few outside structures and create a diagonal route toward the center. It looks inviting, although I would not describe it as completely safe. Once that side is opened, several nearby targets can compete for troop pathing.
That is where a seemingly clean attack could become messy. Imagine a group of Root Riders moving diagonally toward the core while the Queen stays closer to the outside buildings. Both groups may keep destroying targets, so the split does not immediately look like a problem. A little later, however, the main army could reach the Town Hall area without the same hero or spell support it had at the beginning.
A disciplined Root Rider or heavy ground smash attack is probably one of the biggest threats to this design. Those armies have enough strength to cross the wall network, so the base cannot rely on walls alone. The real defensive value comes from making troops choose between the storage lane and the central route. If the attacker builds a narrow funnel, the army may stay together and move through the village efficiently. A wider deployment gives the layout more opportunities to pull units apart.
Queen Charge Hybrid is another approach that makes sense here. A Queen starting from the lower-right could remove a defensive pocket, take an early resource building, and help define a cleaner route before Miners and Hog Riders enter. That sounds controlled, but it comes with the usual timing risk. A Queen that takes an unexpected turn or spends too long on a storage could delay the main Hybrid phase and leave the opposite side of the village for a rushed cleanup.
The air defense setup creates a different type of challenge. Air Defenses appear to cover several lanes into the base instead of being concentrated around one side, while the Inferno Towers function more like separate inner anchors. That spacing may reduce the value of relying on one simple spell sequence.
Dragons could still attack from the lower-right after the funnel is prepared. The important part would be keeping the deployment narrow enough that most of the army continues toward the center. Spread the Dragons across too much of the edge and some may begin circling the outside instead. LavaLoon offers more precise targeting, although it would require a clearer plan for which defensive section to remove first.
What makes this layout fit the Farming category is the difference between taking some loot and taking all of it. An attacker might reach the Town Hall, destroy a storage, and collect a reasonable amount of resources without ever opening every compartment. To sweep the village completely, the player is likely to need more troops, better pathing, and enough time to cross from one storage section to another.
The layout does have a weakness. The lower-right diagonal is fairly easy to identify, and an experienced attacker may use the exposed storage lane as a path toward the center. If that route stays too clean in actual defenses, it could become the first area worth adjusting.
