TH18 Farming Base #13: Split Storage Protection with a Lower-Right Entry

Town Hall 18 Farming Layout #13 feels more open than some of the other farming designs, but that does not mean the resources are sitting on one easy route. The Town Hall is placed slightly below the visual center, while the main storage buildings are scattered through separate compartments around it. That gives the village a storage-led diamond shape and creates an interesting problem for attackers: reaching the center is one task, but collecting every important storage is another.

The resource placement is what makes this base worth looking at closely. Several Gold Storages sit away from the Town Hall, while the Elixir Storages are divided between the inner and lower sections. They are close enough to tempt a farming army deeper into the village, yet not arranged in a single straight corridor. A quick attack might remove one pocket and secure decent loot, but the next storage could require a change of direction or another wall transition.

The lower-right edge, roughly around four or five o’clock, looks like the most practical entry. There is room to clear some exterior buildings and create a diagonal path toward the center. I would probably avoid cutting away the entire corner, though. The more buildings that disappear before the main deployment, the more possible paths open up inside. A funnel that looks generous can become too generous.

For example, a Queen placed near four o’clock may continue along the outside while Root Riders or another heavy ground group turns toward the central compartments. At first, that split might seem harmless because both groups are still taking buildings. The problem usually appears later. The main army reaches stronger defenses without enough hero support, while the Queen spends extra time finishing buildings that were never meant to become part of her route.

That diagonal push is probably the clearest weakness in Layout #13. Once the lower-right side is shaped, the attacker can potentially use one exposed storage lane to move deeper into the base. Root Riders and similar smash armies are likely to handle the walls without much trouble, so the defense depends more on pathing and separated targets than on simply keeping troops outside.

A disciplined ground attack could be dangerous. If the funnel stays narrow, tanks, heroes, healers, and support troops may travel together toward the Town Hall. That keeps Rage, Heal, Freeze, or Overgrowth spells efficient. A wide spam-style attack is less convincing because units can peel into neighboring compartments and turn one strong push into several weaker ones.

Queen Charge Hybrid also looks like a reasonable counter. A Queen starting from the lower-right could remove one defensive pocket and possibly take early storage value before Miners and Hog Riders enter. This gives the attacker more control over the opening, but it also adds time pressure. One awkward wall break or unexpected Queen walk could delay the Hybrid portion enough that the upper storage area becomes difficult to finish.

Air attacks have their own problem to solve. The Air Defenses appear to cover different lanes through the village rather than concentrating on one side, and the Inferno Towers are separated enough to reduce easy spell value. Dragons may still find a usable path from the lower-right after the funnel is prepared, although spreading them too widely could send several around the outside. LavaLoon offers more precise targeting, but the attacker would need a clear plan for both the central defenses and the remaining resource compartments.

What makes the design suitable for farming is that the attacker is unlikely to receive every important reward from one simple push. A casual raid may collect collectors, one or two storages, and perhaps even the Town Hall. A complete sweep should require more commitment, more troop movement, and more attention to cleanup.

There is a tradeoff, of course. The diagonal from the lower-right is visible enough that experienced players may test it quickly. Still, an obvious opening is not automatically a weak opening. If that lane pulls the army toward the Town Hall while leaving other storages outside the natural exit path, it can still protect resources effectively.
