TH18 Farming Base #15: Central Town Hall with Split Resource Lanes

Town Hall 18 Farming Layout #15 is built around a simple idea that makes sense for resource protection: losing one part of the village should not automatically expose everything else. The Town Hall sits close to the center, behind the main storage line, while the surrounding Gold and Elixir Storages are spread across several compartments. That gives the base a layered feel rather than one obvious resource vault.

The first thing I notice is how the storages create separate reasons for an attacker to change direction. Four Elixir Storages sit around the inner area instead of being stacked beside one another, while Gold Storages occupy different lanes farther out. A farming army might reach one of those pockets fairly quickly, but moving from that section to the next requires another wall transition and, in some cases, a completely different path.

That separation is important. A rushed raid could take one storage and some exterior collectors, then discover that the rest of the loot sits behind another compartment. A fully prepared TH18 army can obviously go much deeper, but the attacker may have to use most of the army rather than relying on a short smash through one side.

The lower-right edge looks like the most natural place to test first. Around four or five o’clock, there appears to be enough room to remove a few outside buildings and create a diagonal lane toward the center. I would not open that entire corner, though. If the funnel becomes too wide, troops may divide between the right-side storage route and the central Town Hall path.

That is where the layout could become annoying. A Root Rider group may push inward while the Queen continues following buildings closer to the edge. Neither group necessarily dies immediately, so the attack can still look fine. A few seconds later, however, the main force may need spell support while the heroes are fighting somewhere else. That kind of separation is exactly what a farming base can use to leave one or two valuable storages untouched.

The diagonal route is also the clearest weakness. Once the lower-right buildings are cleared, an attacker may be able to turn an exposed storage lane into fairly direct access toward the core. Root Riders or another heavy ground smash composition seem well suited to exploiting that route. The walls themselves probably will not be enough to stop them; pathing and defensive overlap need to do the real work.

Queen Charge Hybrid could be even more controlled. A Queen starting from the lower-right side may remove one compartment, collect some early resource value, and shape a cleaner lane for Miners and Hog Riders. If the Queen follows the intended route, the attack could open the center efficiently. The risk is that a storage or outside building pulls her away, forcing the Hybrid portion to start later than planned.

Air attackers face a somewhat different challenge. The Air Defenses appear positioned to protect crossing lanes rather than simply guarding one edge, and the Inferno Towers are separated enough that one spell is unlikely to cover both. Dragons may still work from the lower-right after a good funnel, but deploying them across too much of the edge could send part of the army around the perimeter. LavaLoon offers more precise targeting, although it would need a clear sequence through the central defenses.

What makes Layout #15 feel like a genuine farming base is the difference between reaching the Town Hall and collecting every storage. Those goals do not sit on exactly the same route. An attacker who focuses heavily on the Town Hall may leave loot behind on the opposite side, while someone chasing every storage could spend too much time moving laterally through the village.

There is a tradeoff. The base is fairly readable, and experienced players may identify the lower-right diagonal quickly. Still, readability does not automatically make a layout weak. If that lane repeatedly pulls troops away from the remaining resource compartments, it can still do useful defensive work.
