TH18 Farming Base #25: Layered Resource Defense with a Lower-Right Opening
Town Hall 18 Farming Layout #25 is built around delay rather than total denial. The resources are not stacked inside one easy compartment, and the Town Hall sits slightly above the true center. That creates a storage-led diamond: an attacker may reach one valuable section quickly, but moving from that section into the rest of the loot path should require more wall breaks, spell support, and time.
The lower-right edge, around four or five o’clock, looks like the cleanest place to begin. There is enough room to remove a few outside buildings and shape a diagonal lane toward the middle. I would not call it a free entry, though. Once the first layer opens, nearby defenses and resource buildings can pull troops toward two different compartments. A push that looks organised at the start may lose its shape before reaching the Town Hall.
That diagonal is also the layout’s most believable weakness. A focused ground army could use the exposed storage lane as a path into the core. Root Riders or another heavy smash composition appear capable of forcing the issue, especially if one hero clears the outside buildings first. The important detail is width. A narrow entry may keep tanks, heroes, and support troops moving together. A broad deployment from the whole lower-right side is more likely to split the attack between the center and the outer resource lane.
Queen Charge Hybrid offers a more controlled approach. A Queen starting near five o’clock could remove one defensive pocket, collect early storage value, and reduce the number of targets competing for her path. Miners and Hog Riders could then travel through a cleaner opening. On paper, that sounds comfortable. In practice, the Queen’s route may be affected by one awkward wall break, a defending Clan Castle pull, or a storage that takes longer than expected. Any delay would leave the Hybrid phase with less time to reach the upper compartments.
Air attackers have a different problem. The Air Defenses appear to cover crossing lanes instead of protecting only one side, and the Inferno Towers are far enough apart that one spell plan is unlikely to handle both. Dragons may find value from the lower-right after the corner is shaped, but a loose line could send several around the outside. LavaLoon gives more control over targeting, although the attacker would need a clear sequence for the middle, the Town Hall area, and the remaining resource buildings on the opposite side.
What I like most about this design is the separation between quick loot and complete loot. A rushed farming attack may take one storage, some collectors, and perhaps the Town Hall. That does not automatically expose everything else. Several storages sit behind different lanes and wall layers, so the attacker may have to choose between continuing toward the center or turning toward the next resource pocket.
That is a realistic goal for a farming base. No layout can promise that every storage will survive against a full-strength TH18 army. A useful design simply tries to make a complete resource sweep expensive. If an opponent uses most of an army, several spells, and nearly the full timer to take all the loot, the base has still created meaningful resistance.
A few details need testing. If repeated replays show that the lower-right diagonal gives direct access to the Town Hall and two storage compartments with little resistance, that side may need stronger trap support or a small defensive adjustment. It would also be useful to compare a narrow Root Rider entry with a wider spam-style deployment. Those results should reveal whether the base loses through raw damage, weak pathing pressure, or late cleanup.
