TH8 Farming Base number 2 – Split Core and Resource Protection Analysis

This TH8 farming base is more spread out than it first appears. The overall shape is fairly open, but the valuable part of the village is broken into several separate compartments, with the Town Hall sitting close to the middle. That combination may work well for farming because an attacker can enter the base without automatically gaining access to every important storage.

The three Elixir Storages are arranged around the central area rather than being placed side by side. Gold Storages are also kept deeper inside the layout. In practice, that means a player attacking from the left might reach one storage and still have to cross another wall section before getting anywhere near the resources on the opposite side.

That separation is probably the best feature of the base.

I also like the way the walls create several distinct lanes. The left and right sides form broad compartments, while the upper and lower sections narrow toward the center. Ground troops are unlikely to follow one perfectly straight line for the whole attack. Giants may lock onto a nearby defense and move sideways, while Goblins or Wizards stop on resource buildings behind them.

Once those groups start moving separately, the raid can become much less efficient.

The Town Hall itself is surrounded by storages and defensive buildings, so reaching the center should normally require more than one quick wall break. High-hitpoint Gold and Elixir Storages also help slow troops down. While attackers are working through a storage, nearby Cannons, Archer Towers, Wizard Towers, and other defenses get extra time to fire.

Splash damage appears to cover the important interior reasonably well. Wizard Towers are positioned near routes leading toward the resource compartments, while Mortars can pressure groups from farther back. This may be particularly useful against cheaper farming armies using Barbarians, Archers, Goblins, or Wizards behind Giants. A group that stays clustered for too long could lose a lot of troops before reaching the next storage.

The upper compartment deserves some attention too. It extends beyond the central resource area and gives attacking troops another defensive section to deal with rather than allowing them to finish the base immediately after reaching the Town Hall. The lower section works in a similar way, stretching troop movement and adding potential time pressure.

There is a trade-off. The wide side compartments can give attackers room to build a controlled funnel, and several buildings around the edge provide fairly easy percentage. A strong army that reaches the middle with most of its troops still alive could also move between the central targets quite quickly.

Still, for everyday TH8 farming, the layout appears practical. It is not trying to make every building impossible to destroy. Instead, it uses separated resources, repeated wall sections, high-hitpoint buffers, splash coverage, and split troop pathing to make a full loot sweep harder. Even when an attacker wins the raid, there is a reasonable chance they will have to spend considerably more troops to take everything.
