This Builder Hall 8 number 06 base has an unusual shape compared with the tighter box-style designs you often see at this level. The upper half carries most of the serious defensive weight, while the lower section stretches outward into a wider enclosure. That split appears intentional: rather than asking every defense to protect the same tiny core, the base tries to make attacking troops travel, change targets and arrive at the important buildings at different times.

The Builder Hall sits near the middle of the upper defensive section, with several damaging defenses positioned close enough to support it. A direct charge toward the Hall may look like the quickest option, but it also brings troops into one of the busiest parts of the base. The Multi Mortar and nearby point defenses can keep applying pressure while units are working through walls or switching targets. If the attack reaches this area in a scattered formation, the core becomes much harder to clear efficiently.

What I find more interesting is the wall geometry. The upper walls narrow inward around the central defenses, while the lower walls open into a much larger shape. Ground troops coming from the bottom can therefore spend time clearing relatively spread-out buildings before they ever reach the real defensive cluster. An army might enter looking perfectly organized, then have one group move left for a nearby structure while another turns toward the center. Once that separation happens, the defenses around the Builder Hall get a better chance to focus on smaller groups.

The side compartments also help with pathing. Defenses near the left and right edges are not simply lined up beside the Hall. They sit at slightly different depths, which may cause defense-targeting troops to move sideways instead of following a straight line through the village. This can be particularly annoying for attacks that rely on a tanky front line keeping everything behind it protected.

Air attacks face a different problem. The base has anti-air threats spread around the upper area rather than concentrated in one easily removed spot. Flying units entering from the top may reach some structures quickly, but they are also approaching the strongest defensive section almost immediately. Coming from the bottom offers more setup space, although it means crossing a larger portion of the base before the Builder Hall becomes reachable.

There is some risk in this design. The Builder Hall is not buried behind several full layers of walls, and the upper section is fairly dense. A carefully planned funnel that gets a healthy force into the center could remove several important defenses in quick succession. The more open lower section can also give an experienced attacker room to control troop direction before committing to the core.

Even with that trade-off, the defensive concept is solid. This base seems built around uneven troop movement, concentrated core damage and extra travel time, rather than relying on one trap or one oversized compartment. The wide lower half can stretch an attack, while the tighter upper section punishes troops once they finally converge on the Builder Hall. For BH8, that gives the design a distinct identity and a sensible defensive purpose without pretending it has no counterplay.
