TH10 Farming Base #5: Broken-Ring Defense Built to Stretch Resource Routes

TH10 Farming Layout #5 uses a broken-ring structure with the Town Hall protected near the center, behind the main storage line. What stands out in the actual layout is how deliberately the village avoids putting every valuable resource on one easy path. Storages sit in separate sections, while the walls create awkward connections between the outer compartments and the deeper core.

That makes the Farming label appropriate. A raider may collect something useful from one side, but reaching the rest of the loot requires more movement, another wall transition, and usually another commitment of troops or spells.

The broken ring makes the next target less obvious

The wall pattern is probably the most interesting part of Layout #5.

Several compartments almost connect around the center, but the ring is interrupted in places. Because of that, troops finishing one section may move sideways toward another defense instead of continuing directly toward the Town Hall or the next storage.

This may not look dramatic on a screenshot, yet it can matter during a real raid. A group that starts together can gradually separate, leaving one section clearing outside buildings while another moves deeper.

For farming defense, that lost efficiency is valuable. The goal is not always to wipe out the entire army. Sometimes making the attacker spend another 15 or 20 seconds reaching the next resource pocket is enough.

The Town Hall sits behind the main resource line

The Town Hall remains close to the center without becoming the only protected objective.

Gold and Elixir Storages are positioned on different routes around it, so taking one valuable building does not immediately expose everything else. Their high hit points also give nearby defenses extra firing time.

I like this arrangement for a farming layout because it accepts a realistic trade: one storage may fall, but the rest should not fall simply because the same opening worked once.

Air Defenses and Infernos cover different lanes

The Air Defenses appear positioned to protect crossing routes, while the Inferno Towers remain far enough apart that one spell plan is unlikely to control both comfortably.

That spacing gives the defense more staying power.

Queen Charge LavaLoon could threaten the layout if the Queen removes the right defensive section and creates a clean air path. Hog or Miner Hybrid is another plausible option, particularly if the attacker manages to keep troop movement predictable through the broken ring.

Compact pockets may also offer chain value to Electro Dragons when attacked from a higher Town Hall level, although an equal-level TH10 attacker would normally rely on TH10-available armies.

The upper-right edge is the main pressure point

The upper-right edge appears to offer the cleanest funnel.

The real weakness is a controlled entry that breaks the ring before troops begin circling away from the intended objective. If that happens cheaply, the attacker can create a shorter route toward the center and remove some of the pathing friction the layout depends on.

Ideally, that opening should cost time, hero health, spells, or troop strength.

Why Layout #5 works for Farming

The strongest quality of TH10 Farming Base #5 is the distance between its valuable sections.

The central Town Hall, separated storages, broken-ring walls, divided Infernos, and distributed Air Defenses all support the same defensive idea: taking some loot should be easier than taking all of it.
