TH11 Clan War Base #3: Offset-Ring Defense Built Around Pathing and Three-Star Denial

TH11 Clan War Layout #3 uses an offset-ring structure with the Town Hall shifted toward the left side instead of sitting directly in the middle. Looking at the actual base, that choice seems intentional. The Town Hall is important, but it is separated from several other valuable defenses, which makes it harder for one push to remove everything the attacker wants.

That is a good fit for Clan War. The design may concede one important objective, but the larger aim appears to be making the full three-star route awkward.

The Town Hall creates a separate problem

The Town Hall sits left of the main defensive center, while the Eagle Artillery and several other high-value defenses remain on different paths.

This forces a choice. An attacker can commit early resources toward the Town Hall, but doing so may leave another strong section untouched. Going directly through the heavier defensive zone creates the opposite problem—the Town Hall can remain outside the main troop path.

That separation is useful for an anti-three-star layout because the first successful phase does not automatically solve the second.

The offset ring is built to influence troop movement

The walls form an uneven ring around the inner defensive area, and this may be the strongest feature of Layout #3.

Troops entering without a precise funnel can begin moving sideways around the ring instead of following the attacker's intended line. Once one group circles while another moves inward, spell coverage and hero support become less efficient.

This matters particularly against Hog or Miner Hybrid, where predictable pathing is important. A Queen Charge can create the funnel, but if it removes the wrong section, the Hybrid portion may still inherit an awkward route.

The same principle can affect other ground armies: the layout does not need to destroy them immediately if it can make them fight in the wrong order.

Air and Inferno coverage stays separated

The Air Defenses appear to cover crossing lanes rather than one single side, while the Inferno Towers are far enough apart that one spell plan is unlikely to control both comfortably.

That gives the defense useful staying power.

Electro Dragons may find chain value inside some compact compartments, but the whole village is not one dense block. Once they move between separated sections, their pathing can become less efficient.

Queen Charge LavaLoon faces another challenge: eliminating one Air Defense does not automatically create a clean flight path through the opposite half of the base.

The lower-left edge is the main weakness

The lower-left side looks like the easiest place to establish a controlled funnel.

The real danger is a clean break in the ring beside the offset Town Hall. If an attacker opens that area before the main force begins circling, the route through the base becomes much simpler.

So this side likely needs to generate value through traps, defensive overlap, or simple delay. It does not have to stop the attack immediately; forcing extra spells, hero health, or time can already help the remaining compartments.

Why Layout #3 works for Clan War

The strongest quality of TH11 Clan War Base #3 is that a triple requires several pieces to succeed in the right order.

The Town Hall demands attention, the offset ring interferes with pathing, and separated defensive anchors keep pressure alive after the first section falls.
