TH11 Clan War Base #7: Offset Ring Layout Built to Frustrate Clean Three-Star Plans

TH11 Clan War Layout #7 looks like a base that is willing to give an attacker something if it can make the rest of the raid awkward. That, to me, is usually a sign of a real war base. It does not try to make every building equally protected. Instead, it seems to trade a possible early gain for a much messier path toward the second and third objectives.

The first thing that stands out is the Town Hall placement. It sits offset toward the left side, rather than blending into the heaviest central cluster. That choice appears deliberate. By separating the Town Hall from other key targets, the layout creates a small decision problem: do you chase the offset objective early, or do you commit deeper into the base and risk leaving value behind? In Clan War, that kind of hesitation matters. A base does not always need to stop the first star; sometimes it just needs to make the full triple feel inefficient.

The offset ring structure is really the heart of the design. Troops are likely to move around the layout instead of marching cleanly through it, especially if the funnel is only half-built. That ring behavior can be annoying for attackers because one section may pull troops sideways while another part of the army drifts around the perimeter. On paper, the shape looks organized. In practice, it may create the kind of pathing confusion that turns a strong hit into a two-star.

Defensively, the layout has some thoughtful spacing. The Air Defenses are split across the inner compartments, and the Inferno Towers are separated, which reduces easy spell value. An attacker cannot freeze or zap too much in one area and suddenly simplify the whole base. That spacing also helps the defense cover multiple approach angles rather than overcommitting to one side. If someone comes in with Electro Dragons or a Queen Charge into air support, they may still find entry points, but the structure seems designed to make those plans work harder than they first appear.

The lower-left edge looks like the easiest funnel point, and that is probably where experienced attackers will start their planning. Still, “easiest” is not the same as “best.” If the ring gets cut beside the offset Town Hall before the main army begins circling, the base may lose some of its intended control. That is likely the main weakness here. Once a clean opening is created near that objective, the attack can feel more direct, and the layout becomes less frustrating.

Even so, I would keep this firmly in the Clan War category. The whole base seems built around harder three-star pathing, not everyday farming value or trophy convenience. It is trying to stretch the attack, split priorities, and force small mistakes over time. That is often what good war bases do best.
