TH12 Farming Base #2: Broken-Ring Defense Built Around Resource Separation
TH12 Farming Layout #2 uses a broken-ring structure with the Town Hall positioned near the center behind the main storage line. Looking at the base itself, the layout feels intentionally spread across several defensive pockets rather than built around one overloaded central compartment. Storages sit on different routes, while the walls interrupt the path between them.
That makes the farming purpose fairly clear. A raider may get into one section and take some loot, but moving from that first success to the remaining resources requires another commitment.
The broken ring makes movement less predictable
The wall pattern is probably the most interesting part of Layout #2.
Several compartments almost connect around the center, but the ring is interrupted in key places. Troops finishing one section may turn toward a nearby defense instead of following a clean path toward another storage.
For farming defense, that can be surprisingly useful.
The base does not necessarily need to destroy the attacking army immediately. If troops spend extra time circling, retargeting, or crossing another wall section, deeper resource pockets remain protected for longer.
A raid can therefore look successful early without necessarily becoming an efficient full clear.
Storages are protected on separate routes
The Gold and Elixir Storages are distributed through different parts of the village rather than stacked together.
That separation limits how much value one breakthrough can provide. A storage may fall, yet another remains behind a different wall line with fresh defensive coverage.
Storages also have enough hit points to function as temporary defensive buffers. While troops are attacking one, Inferno Towers, X-Bows, Teslas, and nearby defenses get additional firing time.
The Town Hall benefits from the same structure. It remains important without becoming the only meaningful target in the base.
Air and Inferno coverage stays divided
The Air Defenses appear positioned to cover crossing lanes instead of leaning heavily toward a single side. The Inferno Towers are also separated far enough to reduce simple single-spell value.
That spacing helps the defense remain relevant in stages.
Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one air-defense section may weaken while another remains active around a different part of the village. Yeti or Bowler Smash and Queen Charge Hybrid present different threats, but the same principle applies: clearing one compartment should not automatically make the next section harmless.
This distributed pressure fits a farming layout well because even one surviving resource pocket can make the defense worthwhile.
The lower-left edge is the main pressure point
The lower-left edge looks like the easiest place to establish a controlled funnel.
The main structural danger is breaking the ring before troop pathing starts pulling units away from the objective. If that opening is too clean, the attacker can shorten the route toward the center and remove some of the travel-time advantage the base depends on.
Defensively, this side should ideally consume something—time, hero health, abilities, spells, or troop strength—before the deeper compartments are exposed.
Why Layout #2 works for Farming
The strongest quality of TH12 Farming Base #2 is the distance and inconvenience between its valuable sections.
The central Town Hall, broken-ring walls, separated storages, spread Air Defenses, and divided Inferno pressure all support one goal: make collecting most of the loot significantly harder than taking the first storage pocket.
