TH12 Farming Base #3: Storage-Led Diamond Defense Built Around Layered Loot Protection

TH12 Farming Layout #3 uses a storage-led diamond structure with the Town Hall slightly offset toward the lower side of the core. Looking at the actual layout, the farming logic feels quite deliberate. Valuable resource buildings are spread across different compartments instead of being stacked along one obvious route, while the strongest defenses sit between those pockets.

That means an attacker may get some loot early, but reaching everything else requires another commitment. For farming, that is usually a more useful goal than trying to make every single storage impossible to touch.

Storages help shape the defensive route

The Gold and Elixir Storages are positioned around different parts of the inner diamond rather than sitting together.

This matters for two reasons. First, one successful breach does not immediately expose all of the available resources. Second, storages have enough hit points to hold troops in place while Inferno Towers, X-Bows, Teslas, and surrounding defenses continue firing.

A storage might eventually fall, but if it delays the attack for several seconds, another resource pocket may survive.

The Town Hall also benefits from this structure. Its slightly lower placement keeps it tied to the resource network without making the whole base revolve around a single objective.

The diamond shape creates awkward transitions

The wall pattern forces troops through several diagonal compartments.

That makes movement less predictable than a simple square base. Once one section is opened, troops may find attractive targets in two different directions. A few units can drift sideways while the main group continues toward the center.

From the defender’s perspective, that split is valuable.

Heavy ground armies such as Yeti or Bowler Smash work best when tanks, heroes, and support troops remain together. If the layout separates them, defensive fire gets more time to work. Queen Charge Hybrid can also face awkward transitions if the opening does not create a clean route through multiple compartments.

Air and Inferno pressure stays separated

The Air Defenses are split around the inner compartments, while the Inferno Towers remain far enough apart to reduce easy single-spell value.

That spacing helps the base keep defensive pressure alive in stages.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one air-defense lane may weaken while another remains active around a separate part of the village. This makes it harder for one successful section to turn into a completely safe sweep through the core.

The lower-right edge is the main weakness

The lower-right edge appears to be the most natural funnel point.

The bigger concern is a diagonal push that turns an exposed storage lane into direct access toward the center. If that route opens too cheaply, some of the distance and pathing friction built into the diamond disappears.

Ideally, this side should force the attacker to spend time, hero health, abilities, or extra troops before reaching the deeper compartments.

Why Layout #3 works for Farming

The strongest feature of TH12 Farming Base #3 is its separation of valuable resource pockets.

The offset Town Hall, storage-led diamond, divided Air Defenses, separated Infernos, and layered wall structure all support the same goal: make taking every storage considerably harder than taking the first one.
