TH12 Farming Base #5: Storage-Led Diamond Built to Protect Loot in Stages
TH12 Farming Layout #5 uses a storage-led diamond with the Town Hall protected near the center behind the main resource line. Looking at the actual base, the layout feels more concerned with limiting total loot loss than forcing every attacker into one brutal central fight. Storages sit on different paths, while several defensive compartments separate the outer value from the deeper core.
For farming, that is a sensible approach. A quick raid may reach one storage. Getting the next two or three, however, should require more wall access, more time, and another commitment from the attacking army.
Storages are part of the defensive structure
The Gold and Elixir Storages are spread around the inner diamond rather than stacked together in one obvious loot pocket.
That separation gives Layout #5 some useful insurance. Even if an attacker breaks one compartment, the remaining resources are not automatically exposed.
Storages also have enough hit points to slow troops while nearby defenses continue firing. A Yeti or Bowler group spending several seconds on one storage may look like it is making progress, but those seconds give Infernos, X-Bows, Teslas, and other defenses extra time to thin the army.
The Town Hall benefits from the same setup. It remains important without becoming the only objective worth defending.
The diamond shape complicates movement toward the center
The wall structure creates several diagonal transitions around the core.
Instead of offering a straight path from one resource building to the next, the base can pull troops sideways into neighboring compartments. That may cause tanks, heroes, and support units to reach different sections at different times.
From the defensive side, that is valuable.
A compact army can overwhelm a compartment quickly. Once it starts stretching across two lanes, spell coverage becomes less efficient and defensive fire has more time to work.
This is especially relevant against Queen Charge Hybrid or Yeti/Bowler-style attacks, where clean pathing matters almost as much as raw troop strength.
Air and Inferno coverage remains separated
The Air Defenses appear positioned to cover crossing lanes rather than just one side, while the Inferno Towers sit far enough apart to avoid becoming one easy spell target.
That spacing helps the defense remain dangerous in stages.
Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one anti-air section may fall while another remains active around a different storage pocket. The attacker still has progress, but not necessarily a safe route through the entire village.
That is exactly what a farming layout wants: partial success without an automatic full sweep.
The upper-left edge is the main pressure point
The upper-left edge appears to be the easiest side to establish a funnel.
The real danger is a diagonal push that turns an exposed storage lane into shorter access toward the center. If that lane disappears too cheaply, some of the diamond’s defensive depth is lost.
This side therefore needs to consume something—time, hero health, abilities, spells, or troop strength—before the deeper core becomes vulnerable.
Why Layout #5 works for Farming
The strongest feature of TH12 Farming Base #5 is that the loot is protected in separate stages.
The central Town Hall, spread storages, diagonal compartments, divided Infernos, and crossing Air Defense coverage all support the same idea: make taking everything noticeably harder than taking the first storage.
