TH12 Farming Base #9: Storage-Led Diamond Defense Built to Spread Loot Risk

TH12 Farming Layout #9 uses a storage-led diamond structure with the Town Hall slightly offset toward the lower side of the core. Looking at the base itself, the farming idea becomes fairly obvious: valuable buildings are separated across several compartments rather than arranged on one convenient route.

That matters because a farming defense does not necessarily need to stop every raid. A more realistic goal is to let an attacker claim part of the loot while making the rest increasingly expensive to reach.

The storages help shape the defensive route

Several Gold and Elixir Storages sit around the deeper defensive network rather than being stacked together.

This creates two useful effects. First, breaking into one storage compartment does not automatically expose every other resource building. Second, those high-hitpoint storages can hold troops in place while nearby X-Bows, Inferno Towers, Teslas, and other defenses continue firing.

The Town Hall sits slightly toward the lower side of this network, which keeps it protected without turning the entire village into a Town Hall-only defense.

I think that suits farming quite well. One resource pocket can be lost without the whole defensive plan disappearing with it.

The diamond structure makes the next storage harder to reach

The wall pattern forms several diagonal compartments around the center.

Rather than giving troops a straight line from one valuable building to the next, these angles can make the attacking force change direction repeatedly. A group finishing one storage may drift toward a nearby defense instead of moving directly toward another resource pocket.

That kind of pathing friction can be surprisingly useful.

A Yeti or Bowler Smash is most dangerous when everything stays together. If tanks move one way while heroes or supporting troops follow another target, the defense gains time. Queen Charge Hybrid can also find the base awkward if the opening does not create a clean route through several compartments.

Air and Inferno coverage stays divided

The Air Defenses are positioned across different inner sections, while the Inferno Towers remain separated rather than forming one easy high-value pair.

That spacing reduces the chance that one spell sequence shuts down too much defensive pressure at once.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one anti-air lane may fall while another remains active around a separate resource section. This gives the base more defensive endurance and helps keep untouched storages relevant later in the raid.

The design appears to prefer several smaller pressure zones rather than one obvious central kill zone.

The upper-left side is the main structural concern

The upper-left edge looks like the most natural place to establish a funnel.

The bigger danger is what happens after that first entry. A disciplined diagonal push could turn an exposed storage lane into a shorter route toward the center. If the attacker removes that corner cheaply, some of the distance and compartment separation built into the layout disappears.

For the defense, this side ideally needs to consume something valuable—time, hero health, spells, abilities, or troop strength—before the deeper storage pockets are threatened.

Why Layout #9 fits Farming

The strongest quality of TH12 Farming Base #9 is that the loot is deliberately spread across separate stages.

Its slightly offset Town Hall, storage-led diamond, divided Air Defenses, separated Infernos, and diagonal wall structure all support the same goal: make taking every resource substantially harder than taking the first storage pocket.
