TH14 Farming Base #5: Broken-Ring Defense Built Around Resource Separation

TH14 Farming Layout #5 uses a broken-ring structure with the Town Hall protected near the center, behind the main storage line. Looking closely at the actual base, the design is noticeably less compact than a traditional storage box. Valuable buildings are spread across different sections, while the walls create interrupted routes rather than one continuous path around the core.

That gives the layout a clear farming purpose. It may allow a raider to reach one resource pocket, but the defense tries to make the next pocket feel like a completely separate job.

The broken ring protects loot through distance

The most interesting feature is the way the wall network wraps around the center without forming one perfect ring.

Several sections are disconnected or offset from one another. Defensively, that creates extra travel between valuable areas. Troops finishing one compartment may have to change direction before reaching another storage instead of simply following a smooth route through the village.

For farming defense, that matters.

The goal is not necessarily to prevent the first storage from falling. If the remaining storages require more movement, another wall crossing, and fresh defensive exposure, the layout is already limiting the amount of loot one push can collect.

The Town Hall sits behind the resource network

The Town Hall remains close to the center, but it does not stand alone as the only major objective.

Storages and defensive buildings surround the central area from different directions. This creates a useful buffer: troops working through high-hitpoint resource buildings spend extra time under fire from Infernos, X-Bows, Scattershots, and surrounding defenses.

The base therefore uses the storages as part of the defensive structure, not merely as buildings to hide.

That can make the center feel much slower to clear than it first appears.

Air and Inferno coverage stays divided

The Air Defenses appear positioned to protect crossing lanes through different sections, while the Inferno Towers sit far enough apart to act as separate defensive anchors.

That spacing is important because the layout does not give away one obvious area where several major threats can be controlled together.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one section may begin to weaken while another air-defense lane remains active around a different resource pocket. Yeti or Bowler Smash and Queen Charge Hybrid create different pressure, but the same defensive principle applies: breaking one section should not automatically disable the rest.

The lower-left edge is the main structural concern

The lower-left edge appears to be the most exposed part of Layout #5.

The main weakness is a controlled opening that interrupts the broken ring before troop movement begins to circle away from the objective. If that section collapses too cheaply, the route between an outer resource pocket and the center becomes noticeably shorter.

From the defensive side, this area needs to consume something valuable—time, hero health, troops, abilities, or spells.

It does not need an immediate stop. A slower opening may already give the remaining resource sections enough time to survive.
