TH14 Farming Base #7: Broken-Ring Defense Built Around Resource Separation

TH14 Farming Layout #7 uses a broken-ring structure with the Town Hall protected near the center behind the main storage line. Looking closely at the actual base, the layout feels intentionally irregular. Valuable buildings sit in separate pockets around the core, while the walls interrupt what would otherwise be an easy circular route through the village.

That makes the Farming label appropriate. This base is not trying to preserve every building equally. Its defensive purpose appears to be much simpler: if one resource section falls, the next one should still require time, movement, and another commitment.

The broken ring makes the loot harder to connect

The most important feature here is the wall structure.

Instead of creating one continuous ring around the Town Hall, Layout #7 breaks that path into several defensive sections. Troops clearing one storage pocket cannot necessarily continue smoothly around the village. They may need to turn inward, cross another wall line, or move toward a completely different group of targets.

For a farming defense, that interruption is useful.

A raider can still take some loot, but the layout tries to prevent that initial success from becoming a fast sweep through every Gold and Elixir Storage.

Storages help protect the central area

The resource buildings are spread around different parts of the defensive network rather than stacked beside the Town Hall.

That separation gives the base some insurance. One breached compartment does not automatically expose all remaining resources.

Storages also absorb a fair amount of damage themselves. While troops spend time working through one, nearby X-Bows, Infernos, Scattershots, and other defenses can continue applying pressure.

The Town Hall benefits from this setup because it sits behind the broader storage network rather than functioning as the only valuable target in the middle.

Defensive coverage remains active across several lanes

The Air Defenses appear to cover crossing routes through the base, while the Inferno Towers are separated enough to act as independent defensive anchors.

That is an important choice.

If the strongest defenses were grouped too tightly, one well-timed control spell could reduce too much pressure at once. Here, one section may weaken while another remains fully active.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, that can help preserve a second resource pocket even after the first defensive lane starts falling. Yeti or Bowler Smash and Queen Charge Hybrid create different threats, but the defensive objective stays the same: keep the raid divided into stages.

The upper-right side is the key pressure point

The upper-right edge appears to be the easiest section of Layout #7 to shape, which makes it the main structural concern.

The real danger is a controlled entry that interrupts the broken ring before troop pathing begins to circle away from the objective. If that happens too cheaply, the attacker can connect an outer storage lane with the central area more efficiently than the layout intends.

From the defensive side, this section needs to consume something—time, hero health, abilities, spell value, or troop strength.

It does not need an immediate stop. Making that first breakthrough expensive may already protect the rest of the loot.
