TH14 Farming Base #9: Broken-Ring Defense Built Around Resource Separation

TH14 Farming Layout #9 uses a broken-ring structure with the Town Hall protected near the center behind the main storage line. Looking at the actual base, the defensive plan feels less symmetrical than the previous diamond-style layouts. Several important compartments are deliberately disconnected from one another, which makes the resource path less predictable and forces troops to keep changing direction.

For farming defense, that is useful. The base does not need to save every storage. It needs to prevent one successful breach from turning into a quick collection of everything valuable.

The broken ring separates the loot

The central defensive network forms a loose ring, but it is interrupted by different wall sections and isolated pockets rather than being completely continuous.

That matters because troops moving through one side do not automatically receive a clean route around the entire core. A group may reach one storage, then have to redirect toward another compartment while fresh defenses remain active elsewhere.

The Town Hall sits behind this storage-heavy network, so it benefits from the same structure. It is important, but it does not carry the whole defense.

This is probably the strongest farming feature of Layout #9: resource value is spread across routes rather than stacked along one line.

Storages buy time for the defenses

The Gold and Elixir Storages sit inside different sections of the inner structure.

Besides protecting resources, their high hit points help slow attacking troops. A few extra seconds spent destroying one storage gives Inferno Towers, X-Bows, Scattershots, and surrounding defenses more time to work.

The defense does not necessarily expect one compartment to survive forever. Instead, each pocket is supposed to delay the raid before the next valuable section is threatened.

That gradual slowdown can preserve a surprising amount of loot late in the attack.

Air and Inferno coverage creates separate pressure zones

The Air Defenses appear positioned to protect crossing lanes, while the Inferno Towers are separated rather than sitting together as one easy spell target.

That defensive spacing is valuable.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one air lane may begin to collapse while another remains active around a different section. Yeti or Bowler Smash and Queen Charge Hybrid create different pressure, but the same principle applies: clearing one zone should not automatically remove the threats protecting the rest of the village.

The base is trying to maintain pressure in stages.

The lower-left edge is the structural concern

The lower-left edge looks like the most exposed part of Layout #9.

The main danger is a controlled opening that interrupts the broken ring before troops begin circling. If that section falls too cleanly, the attacker can shorten the route between an outer storage lane and the center.

From the defensive side, this area needs to consume something—time, hero health, troops, abilities, or spells.

It does not have to completely stop the raid. Making the first breach expensive may already protect several resource pockets elsewhere.

Why Layout #9 works for Farming

The farming value of TH14 Farming Base #9 comes from making loot collection feel fragmented rather than continuous.

Its central Town Hall, separated storages, broken-ring walls, distributed Air Defenses, and divided Inferno pressure all support one goal: make the attacker reconnect several sections of the village before they can collect most of the resources.
