TH14 Clan War Base #21: Multi-Compartment Defense Built Around Back-End Pressure

TH14 Clan War Layout #21 uses a wide multi-compartment structure with the Town Hall shifted toward the right side of the defensive core. Looking at the actual base, the most interesting part is not simply where the Town Hall sits. It is how much defensive value remains spread across the rest of the village.

The layout appears designed to make a successful opening feel better than it really is. An attacking army may remove a useful section early, yet several strong defensive pockets can still remain untouched. For Clan War, that is exactly where this base gets its identity: progress does not automatically translate into a comfortable three-star finish.

The offset Town Hall avoids one overloaded core

The Town Hall is not placed directly in the geometric center. By shifting it toward the right, the design separates the main objective from several other high-value defenses.

That separation can be useful defensively.

If too many major buildings were grouped beside the Town Hall, one concentrated push could remove a huge portion of the base at once. Layout #21 avoids that. Even after the Town Hall area is compromised, important defensive anchors remain active in other compartments.

The result is a base that can continue fighting after losing one important section rather than collapsing around it.

Compartments are built to disturb troop formation

The core is broken into several irregular pockets connected by narrow wall lines.

This structure appears intended to interfere with troop movement more than simply block it. Once the main force reaches the interior, neighboring defenses can pull different units in different directions.

That is especially useful against Yeti or Bowler Smash-style armies, which rely heavily on keeping tanks, heroes, and support troops together. If those groups separate, the defense gets more time to focus them individually.

Queen Charge Hybrid faces a similar defensive challenge: one compartment may fall cleanly while another remains positioned to apply pressure from a different angle.

Defensive threats remain spread across the village

The Air Defenses and Inferno Towers are not presented as one neat cluster.

Instead, they support different sections of the layout. This means one control spell is less likely to neutralize several high-value threats at once.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, the staggered air coverage may keep the attacking force under pressure as it moves from one zone to another. Ground armies face the same basic principle: removing one defensive anchor does not necessarily make the next compartment safe.

That sustained pressure is probably more important here than raw damage in one single area.

The bottom edge is deliberately less intimidating

The bottom edge appears to be the easiest side of the base to approach. From a defensive perspective, that can actually serve a purpose.

An inviting edge may encourage a broader opening. If the attacking formation becomes too wide, troops can begin splitting between adjacent sections before the important interior defenses are reached.

That is where time pressure enters the picture.

A raid can look healthy in terms of surviving troops and still become inefficient because those troops are now spread across the wrong compartments. Cleanup takes longer, spells cover fewer units, and the untouched back-end defenses gain extra value.

Why Layout #21 fits Clan War

The defensive strength of TH14 Clan War Base #21 comes from making the attacker choose between securing early value and preserving enough strength for the final sections.

Its offset Town Hall, separated defensive pockets, staggered anti-air coverage, and compartment-heavy core all support an anti-three-star strategy.
