TH15 Ranked Base #11: Open-Ring Defense Built Around Central Control
TH15 Ranked Layout #11 uses a central Town Hall inside an open-ring defensive structure, and the base image makes its defensive purpose fairly easy to read. Rather than putting every dangerous building into one cramped compartment, the layout spreads pressure across several connected sections around the middle.
That gives the base a useful Ranked identity. It can surrender some outside percentage without immediately giving away control of the core. The real defensive goal appears to be making troops lose their formation as they move deeper, while the clock gradually becomes another problem.
The Town Hall anchors the strongest zone
The Town Hall sits firmly inside the primary defensive core, surrounded by multiple wall layers and supporting defenses.
What stands out is that the surrounding firepower is not concentrated in a single box. The Eagle Artillery, Inferno Towers, X-Bows, and other important defenses occupy different sections of the inner structure.
That separation may help the base survive in stages. Even if one compartment falls quickly, another defensive pocket can remain active and continue wearing down heroes or support troops.
In other words, the defense does not need one perfect stop. It can gain value gradually.
The open ring is designed to create bad pathing
The ring around the Town Hall is probably the most important feature of Layout #11.
Several targets sit at similar distances from the inner lanes. That makes it possible for attacking troops to separate naturally—one group may follow defenses around the ring while another continues toward the center.
From a defensive standpoint, this is exactly what the layout wants.
Root Riders and other heavy ground troops are not easily stopped by walls alone, so the base instead tries to weaken the army by breaking its formation. Once heroes, front-line troops, and support units are fighting in different compartments, spell coverage becomes less efficient and individual defenses survive longer.
Inferno and Air Defense spacing preserves pressure
The Inferno Towers are spread across the base rather than grouped into one easy spell zone. Air Defenses also appear positioned to cover crossing routes instead of concentrating entirely on one side.
That should make the defense harder to neutralize with a single Freeze, Overgrowth, or similar control spell.
Against Dragons or LavaLoon, the same spacing can keep air pressure active through several parts of the raid. Clearing one section does not necessarily create a safe path through the next.
This distributed coverage is subtle, but it is one of the stronger parts of the design.
The upper-right section is the main defensive concern
The upper-right edge appears to offer the most comfortable opening into the structure, which makes it an important pressure point for the defense.
If that side collapses without costing much time or hero strength, the attacker may gain better control over the open ring. That reduces the layout's biggest defensive advantage: unpredictable troop movement.
For that reason, the upper-right area is likely where hidden traps and overlapping defensive fire can provide particularly valuable disruption.
Why #11 fits Ranked defense
TH15 Ranked Base #11 is built around a useful tension: easy outside percentage versus the harder route through the center.
The outer buildings can pull troops away from the core, while the central Town Hall forces a more committed push. Spend too long around the perimeter and cleanup time becomes tighter. Push too aggressively inward and the ring has a better chance of splitting the attacking army.
Overall, Layout #11 is a pathing-control and time-pressure defense. Its central Town Hall, open-ring compartments, separated Infernos, and crossing air coverage are designed to keep the raid from developing into one clean, concentrated push.
