TH5 Farming Base number 2 – Compact Core and Resource Protection Analysis

This TH5 farming base keeps the important part of the village fairly tight, but it does not simply place every valuable building in one open compartment. The Town Hall sits near the middle, with the two Elixir Storages positioned on opposite sides of the upper core and other resource buildings mixed into the surrounding sections. For farming, that setup appears aimed at making a complete loot sweep more troublesome than a quick entry from one side.

The storage placement is probably the first thing I would pay attention to. Both Elixir Storages are protected inside the wall network rather than sitting near the edge. They are fairly close to the Town Hall, but not directly stacked on top of each other. An attacker coming from the left may reach one storage first, while the other still requires movement across the central area.

That separation may buy the defense a few useful seconds.

The walls also create several small pockets instead of one large square. Giants entering through a single breach could start moving toward different defensive buildings depending on which target becomes closest. Meanwhile, Goblins, Archers, or Wizards behind them may stop on storages or other structures.

A farming attack can become surprisingly messy once that happens. The Giants keep moving deeper, while the troops responsible for clearing buildings fall behind. If the attacker did not build a clean funnel beforehand, the army may lose its shape before reaching the entire resource core.

The storages themselves help defensively too. They have more hit points than collectors and many smaller buildings, which means troops remain under fire while trying to destroy them. Nearby Cannons, Archer Towers, the Mortar, and the Wizard Tower can use that extra time to wear down the attack.

Splash damage is especially useful against cheaper farming armies. Barbarians, Archers, Goblins, or supporting Wizards often enter through the same opening and bunch together. The Mortar can pressure those groups from range, while the Wizard Tower becomes dangerous once they move closer to the inner compartments.

I also like that the defenses are not all pushed into the exact center. Some remain on the sides, so reaching the Town Hall does not instantly shut down the whole village. That can force attackers to keep spending troops if they want to clear the remaining storages.

There are a couple of trade-offs. The layout is compact, so a strong army that reaches the middle with most of its troops intact could move between important targets fairly quickly. Several outside buildings are also easy percentage and may help a patient attacker build a cleaner funnel.

Still, for everyday TH5 farming, the design makes sense. Its defensive value comes from protected resource compartments, high-hitpoint storage delays, spread defensive coverage, and troop pathing that can split a rushed attack into smaller groups. It may not stop every raid, but it appears well suited to making attackers spend more troops and time if they want to take everything.
