TH5 Clan War Base number 7 – Central Core and Compartment Defense Analysis
This TH5 Clan War base is compact, but it does not rely on one big wall box to protect everything. The Town Hall sits near the middle, with several smaller compartments surrounding it. That may sound simple, but at TH5 it can be useful because attackers have fewer options for fixing bad pathing once their troops are already inside.
The central Town Hall is the obvious defensive anchor. An attacker cannot reach it directly from the deployment edge without first moving through other buildings and defensive fire. Even after the outer wall is opened, troops still have several possible targets competing for their attention.
That is where the compartment design starts to matter.
A Giant-based attack entering from the lower side, for example, may have the Giants moving toward the closest Cannon or other defense while Archers or Wizards behind them stop on nearby buildings. If the funnel was not prepared properly, the attacking group can separate before it reaches the Town Hall. At this level, losing that connection between tanks and support troops can make an otherwise straightforward attack noticeably harder.
The base also keeps its defensive strength spread across several sections. Instead of placing every useful defense beside the Town Hall, buildings are positioned around the left, right, upper, and lower approaches. Removing one side therefore does not immediately create a completely safe route through the rest of the village.
Splash damage may be particularly useful here. The Mortar sits far enough inside the layout to keep firing while attackers work through the outer buildings. Groups of Barbarians, Archers, or Wizards can take significant damage if they remain clustered behind Giants for too long.
The resource buildings have a defensive role as well. Although protecting loot is not important during Clan War, storages have much higher hit points than many ordinary structures. Troops that stop to destroy one stay under defensive fire for longer. Those extra seconds may give the Mortar, Archer Towers, Cannons, and other defenses enough time to weaken the push before it reaches the center.
I also notice that several non-critical buildings are left outside the walls. There is a trade-off here. They give attackers relatively easy percentage and can help establish a funnel, but careless deployment can also pull troops sideways instead of sending them directly into the intended compartment.
The layout has weaknesses, of course. Its compact size means that once a strong army gains control of the core, several important buildings are within a short distance of one another. The fairly balanced structure may also become easier to read after an experienced attacker studies it.
Still, this is a sensible TH5 Clan War layout. Its defensive quality comes from central Town Hall protection, multiple compartments, distributed defensive fire, high-hitpoint delays, and pathing that can punish a rushed Giant-based push. It is not an unbeatable design, but it appears well suited to making a clean three-star require better funneling and troop control than the base's small size might suggest.
