TH6 Clan War Base number 7 – Layered Core and Defensive Pathing Analysis

This TH6 Clan War base is small, as you would expect at this level, but the layout makes fairly good use of the available walls. Instead of surrounding everything with one large square, it creates a central defensive zone and several smaller pockets around it. That may not stop a well-prepared attacker on its own, but it does make a simple straight-line push less reliable.

The Town Hall sits deep inside the main structure. An attacker coming from the top or either side has to pass through other buildings and defensive fire before reaching it, while the lower approach is partly slowed by the two Elixir Storages sitting in front of the inner area.

Those storages are more useful than they might seem. In Clan War, their resources are irrelevant, so their real value is their high hit points. Troops can spend several seconds attacking an Elixir Storage while Cannons, Archer Towers, Mortars, or other nearby defenses continue firing. At TH6, where armies are smaller and less forgiving, a few extra seconds under fire can genuinely change the attack.

The wall arrangement is probably the most interesting feature here. The central section is wrapped by another defensive layer, meaning one Wall Breaker opening does not necessarily solve the whole base. Giants may enter successfully and then turn toward the nearest defense instead of continuing straight toward the Town Hall.

That can create an awkward split. Giants could move deeper while Wizards or Archers behind them stop to clear another building. If the attacker has not created a proper funnel, the tanks may end up too far ahead of the troops providing most of the damage.

Splash defenses should benefit from exactly that situation. Mortars can pressure larger groups from range, while the Wizard Towers appear protected enough that they are unlikely to disappear immediately at the beginning of the attack. Against Barbarians, Archers, or Wizards grouped behind Giants, that splash damage may become one of the base's better ways to break momentum.

The base also keeps important defensive buildings away from the easiest perimeter access. That forces an attacker to commit troops before removing the strongest parts of the defense rather than picking them off cheaply from outside.

There are weaknesses, of course. The layout is compact, so once an attacker establishes control of the center, several important buildings are within a short distance of one another. The two Elixir Storages are also close together, which gives a successful lower-side push good value. Some outside buildings can be collected fairly easily as well.

Still, for a TH6 Clan War layout, the defensive idea is sensible. It appears designed to delay entry into the Town Hall area, force additional wall breaks, separate tanks from support troops, and keep splash defenses active long enough to punish a rushed attack. It will not make TH6 impossible to three-star, but it should make poor funneling and careless troop deployment much more costly.
