TH7 Clan War Base number 3 – Funnel Disruption and Layered Core Defense

This TH7 Clan War base takes a fairly unusual top-to-bottom approach. Instead of building one large square around the Town Hall, the layout stretches upward through several smaller compartments. That shape may look simple in the screenshot, but it creates a useful defensive problem: an attacker has to decide whether to enter through the wider middle section or spend time clearing the narrow upper portion first.

The Town Hall sits inside the main defensive core rather than close to the deployment edge. It is surrounded by walls, defenses, and high-hitpoint buildings, so a direct push toward it should still require some commitment. More importantly, reaching the first compartment does not open the entire village.

That compartment depth is probably the strongest feature here.

The upper section contains several defensive targets behind its own walls. Giants or other defense-targeting troops entering from that direction may move through the narrow compartments instead of heading immediately toward the Town Hall. If the attacker has not prepared the funnel properly, Wizards or Archers can remain behind on outside buildings while the tanks continue forward.

Coming from the bottom creates a different problem. The two Elixir Storages sit close to the lower approach and can act as large hitpoint barriers. They may look like attractive early targets, but troops stopping there remain exposed to nearby defensive fire. In Clan War, the resources inside the storages do not matter, so using them to slow an attack is a sensible choice.

Gold Storages deeper in the layout serve a similar purpose. An attacker may clear one defensive pocket successfully and still have to spend time working through another high-health building before reaching the next important section. Those delays can become surprisingly costly at TH7, where armies do not have the same raw power or spell support available at higher Town Hall levels.

Splash defense also seems positioned to support the main lanes through the base. Mortars and Wizard Towers can punish groups of lower-health support troops once they become clustered behind Giants. A Giant-and-Wizard army may look comfortable while entering, then suddenly lose much of its damage if the Wizards are caught together.

Air defense is especially important at TH7 because Dragons are a common war option. The important anti-air coverage appears to be kept within the wall structure instead of sitting completely exposed at the perimeter. This should make an air attacker spend more time under fire before removing those defenses, with Archer Towers providing additional coverage from different angles.

There are some compromises. The long, symmetrical shape gives an experienced attacker clues about the intended path, and the wider middle could become vulnerable if a strong army reaches it with most troops still alive. A few outside buildings also offer relatively easy percentage.

Even so, the defensive concept makes sense. This TH7 Clan War layout is built around forcing awkward funnels, delaying access to the Town Hall, using storages as defensive buffers, preserving splash damage, and stretching the attack across several compartments. It may not stop every well-planned three-star attempt, but careless deployment could make this base much more stubborn than its clean shape suggests.
