TH7 Clan War Base number 7 – Staggered Core and Pathing Defense Analysis
This TH7 Clan War base does not follow the usual perfectly square design. Instead, it has a wider defensive core with a narrow compartment extending from the bottom. That shape may look a little unusual, but it appears to have a purpose: troops that enter successfully still have several directions they can be pulled, and clearing the Town Hall does not necessarily mean the rest of the base is finished.
The Town Hall is kept well inside the walls, surrounded by several defensive compartments. There is no simple outer-wall break that exposes the entire center. Ground troops have to move through one section and then deal with another layer before they can comfortably control the core.
Pathing is probably the most interesting defensive feature here.
The side compartments contain separate defensive targets, which may pull Giants away from a direct route through the middle. At the same time, Wizards or Archers following behind can stop on other buildings. A slightly poor funnel could leave tanks moving one way while the damage troops drift somewhere else, and at TH7 that separation can hurt an attack quickly.
The lower compartment adds another complication. It stretches the village away from the main core and keeps meaningful buildings behind another wall section. If an attacker concentrates everything on the Town Hall early, this lower pocket may survive long enough to create cleanup pressure later. It is a small detail, but war attacks are sometimes lost because troops simply run out of time.
Storages are also being used sensibly. In Clan War, protecting the actual Gold or Elixir inside them does not matter, so their high hit points become more useful as defensive barriers. Troops can spend several seconds working through a storage while Cannons, Archer Towers, Mortars, and other defenses continue firing.
Splash damage appears to support the core fairly well too. Mortars and Wizard Towers are positioned inside the main wall structure rather than sitting exposed at the edge. That may be particularly useful against Giant-and-Wizard armies, where the supporting troops often stay grouped behind the tanks. A few splash hits at the wrong moment can remove a large part of the attack's damage.
Air defense is important at TH7 because Dragon attacks are a common threat. Here, the key anti-air defenses appear to be kept within the protected interior, forcing air troops deeper into the base before they can remove the main coverage. Archer Towers provide additional air damage from several areas.
The base does have weaknesses. Several outside buildings can be taken for easy percentage, and the central defensive area is fairly compact. If a strong army reaches the core with most of its troops still alive, several important targets could fall relatively quickly.
Still, the overall war-defense idea is convincing. Protected central objectives, separated compartments, storage-based stalling, splash coverage, and the extended lower section all work together to disrupt troop movement and create time pressure. It may not stop every carefully planned TH7 attack, but rushed deployment or a weak funnel could turn into a much harder three-star attempt than expected.
