TH7 Ranked Base number 6 – Compact Core and Layered Pathing Defense
This TH7 Ranked base is fairly compact, but it does not feel like one big box. The walls divide the village into several connected compartments, with the Town Hall sitting deep in the middle. That structure may look straightforward from a distance, yet once troops enter, there are enough separate defensive pockets to make a clean route through the base less certain.
The Town Hall placement is one of the better parts of the design. It is not close enough to the edge for an easy grab, and troops approaching the center still have other defenses and buildings competing for their attention. An attacker can certainly force a route toward it, but doing that while keeping the whole army together may be the harder part.
Ground pathing appears to be where this layout can cause problems.
The compartments on the left, right, and lower sections each contain defensive targets. Giants entering from one direction may turn toward the nearest Cannon or Archer Tower rather than continuing straight through the center. Meanwhile, Wizards or Archers following behind can stop on storages or other structures. If the funnel is only slightly off, the attacking group may separate before reaching the Town Hall.
At TH7, that can hurt quickly. There is less room for recovery than at higher Town Hall levels.
The layout also makes sensible use of its storages. In Ranked defense, their high hit points can be just as useful as the resources inside them. A group of troops that stops to destroy a Gold or Elixir Storage is spending extra time under defensive fire. Nearby Cannons, Archer Towers, Wizard Towers, and Mortars can take advantage of those delays.
Splash damage appears reasonably spread instead of being concentrated in one spot. That matters against armies built around Giants with groups of Wizards or Archers behind them. Once the support troops bunch up inside one of the smaller compartments, a few splash hits can remove a surprising amount of attacking power.
Air defense is another important consideration at TH7, where Dragons are a common threat. The key anti-air defenses appear to sit within the main wall structure rather than directly on the perimeter. That should force air troops deeper into the village before they can remove them, while Archer Towers continue adding damage from different angles.
There are also several buildings outside the walls. They are easy percentage targets, which is a weakness, but they can create funneling problems. An attacker who spreads troops too widely may end up with part of the army walking around the edge instead of entering the central compartments.
The base is not without trade-offs. Its compact interior means that a strong attack reaching the core with plenty of troops still alive could remove several important defenses quickly. The wall pattern also becomes easier to understand once an experienced player studies it carefully.
Still, the defensive idea suits TH7 Ranked play well. The layout relies on central Town Hall protection, compartment depth, high-hitpoint delays, distributed splash damage, and troop pathing that can punish an inaccurate funnel. It may not stop every carefully planned attack, but it should make rushed three-star attempts noticeably less comfortable.
