TH8 Farming Base number 5– Compact Diamond Resource Defense Analysis
This TH8 farming base is smaller and tighter than some of the wide farming layouts, and that seems to be part of the plan. The Town Hall sits close to the center, while the main Gold and Elixir Storages are spread through different sections around it. There is valuable loot on several sides, but no obvious breach that gives an attacker everything at once.
For a farming base, that is probably its biggest strength.
Look at the lower half, for example. Two Elixir Storages are protected in separate pockets near the bottom, while another sits farther toward the right side. Gold is distributed through other parts of the interior. An attacker coming from one direction may reach a valuable storage fairly quickly, but collecting the rest means crossing more walls and moving into another defensive zone.
The wall pattern helps a lot here. Rather than building one giant square around the core, the layout uses a series of smaller compartments. That can make Giant pathing surprisingly awkward. Giants may turn toward a nearby Cannon or Archer Tower, while Goblins or Wizards behind them stop on a storage. Suddenly the attack that looked organized at deployment is moving in two or three directions.
I would expect that to be particularly useful against quick farming raids, where the attacker does not want to spend a full army just to collect every storage.
Splash defenses are positioned close enough to the interior to take advantage of those delays. Wizard Towers can punish groups of Goblins, Archers, or Wizards once they enter the storage areas, while Mortars add pressure when support troops remain grouped together. A storage taking several seconds to fall gives those defenses more time to work.
The Town Hall is also reasonably protected without becoming the only focus of the layout. It sits behind walls and defensive coverage, but the important resources are not all stacked directly beside it. So even if an attacker manages to reach the Town Hall, there may still be worthwhile storages left elsewhere in the village.
Another useful detail is the spacing around the outside. Several buildings sit beyond the main walls. Yes, that gives away some easy destruction percentage. On the other hand, those buildings can interfere with funneling. Drop troops too widely and part of the army may start walking around the edge instead of entering where planned.
There are some drawbacks. The base is quite compact, so once a strong army gets control of the center, several important targets are within relatively short distance of each other. The diamond structure is also fairly easy to understand after studying it for a moment.
Still, as a TH8 farming layout, the defensive idea is practical. It relies on separating the loot, forcing repeated wall breaches, keeping splash damage around important storage areas, and making troop movement less predictable. It may not stop every attack, but it should make a complete resource sweep more expensive than simply breaking into one compartment and taking everything.
