TH8 Farming Base number 7 – Layered Diamond Resource Defense Analysis
This TH8 farming base uses a layered diamond design, and the first thing that stands out is how much distance an attacker has to cover before getting comfortable access to the core. The Town Hall sits near the middle, with the important Gold and Elixir Storages positioned around the inner sections rather than being left close to the edge.
For farming, that is a sensible setup. The aim is not necessarily to stop every attack. It is to make taking all of the valuable resources awkward enough that a quick loot raid runs out of troops, time, or momentum before everything is gone.
The walls do a lot of the work here. Instead of one large open compartment, the village uses several diamond-shaped layers. An attacker can break through the first wall and still have another section blocking the route toward the center. Ground troops may also start circling along the walls if their preferred target is easier to reach from the side.
That could be particularly annoying for Giant-based farming armies. Giants may chase Cannons, Archer Towers, or other defenses around the inner ring while Goblins and Wizards focus on storages behind them. Once those groups separate, the attack becomes much easier for the base to punish.
The storage placement helps reinforce this idea. The main resource buildings are not all sitting in one room, so reaching one does not automatically expose the others. Their high hit points matter too. While attacking troops spend several seconds working through a Gold or Elixir Storage, nearby defenses continue firing.
Splash damage appears to be placed where it can benefit from those delays. Wizard Towers cover important sections of the interior, while Mortars can pressure groups from farther back. Goblins rushing toward a storage may get some loot, but staying grouped for too long near splash defenses could make it difficult for them to continue toward the next target.
The Town Hall itself has reasonable protection. It sits behind multiple wall layers rather than on the outer ring, and the surrounding defenses can continue applying pressure as troops move inward. More importantly for farming, destroying the Town Hall does not immediately mean the attacker has secured every major storage.
The outer buildings also have a small defensive purpose. Some offer easy percentage, which is a weakness, but they can interfere with funneling. A few troops placed too widely may spend time walking around the perimeter instead of entering the diamond where the attacker intended.
There is one obvious trade-off: the layout is very symmetrical. Once an experienced attacker studies it, the general structure becomes fairly predictable. A strong army that opens a reliable route into the core could also reach several valuable buildings in a short period.
Even so, the farming concept appears solid. Repeated wall layers, separated resources, storage-based delays, splash coverage, and a protected inner core all work toward the same goal: making a full loot sweep considerably more expensive than simply grabbing the easiest buildings and leaving.
