TH8 Farming Base number 9– Compact Resource Protection and Compartment Defense
This TH8 farming base is quite compact, but it does a good job of avoiding the biggest farming-layout mistake: placing every valuable storage in one easy-to-reach compartment. The Town Hall sits near the middle, while the Gold and Elixir Storages are spread across different sections of the village. That alone should make a complete loot sweep more difficult than simply breaking one wall and flooding the core.
The storage placement is probably the strongest part of the layout. Elixir Storages are separated between different sides, and the Gold Storages are also divided rather than stacked together. An attacker coming from the left might reach one valuable pocket fairly quickly, but the remaining loot still requires another wall break and a move through additional defenses.
That matters during ordinary farming raids. Many attackers are not trying to perfectly three-star the village; they want quick resources without spending too many troops. Making them repeatedly commit more units is often enough to save part of the loot.
The walls help with this. Instead of one large open interior, the base uses a number of small compartments around the Town Hall. Ground troops may enter successfully and then start taking different routes. Giants can move toward nearby defensive buildings while Goblins or Wizards become distracted by storages. If the funnel is slightly messy, the attacking army may split before it reaches the most valuable part of the base.
Splash damage appears well suited to that kind of situation. Wizard Towers sit near important sections where groups of low-health troops are likely to gather, while Mortars cover broader areas from inside the walls. A group of Goblins rushing a storage, for example, may get the loot but take heavy splash damage before moving on to the next compartment.
The Town Hall itself is reasonably protected. It is not pushed onto the outer edge, and an attacker normally has to work through part of the defensive structure before reaching it. More importantly for a farming base, the Town Hall does not share one giant room with every storage. Even if the center falls, there can still be valuable resources left elsewhere.
Air defense looks fairly balanced too. The main anti-air buildings are kept within the wall network rather than exposed on the perimeter. Dragons or Balloons should generally have to travel through defended areas before removing them, while Archer Towers contribute additional air coverage from different angles.
There is a trade-off to the compact design. Once a strong army successfully reaches the middle, several important buildings are fairly close together. Good spell placement could give an experienced attacker considerable value. Some outside structures also provide easy percentage, although those same buildings can waste time or interfere with troop funneling.
For everyday TH8 farming, though, the design appears practical. Its defensive value comes from separated resource storages, repeated wall compartments, useful splash coverage, and troop pathing that makes collecting every storage more expensive. The goal is not necessarily to stop every attack. It is to make sure that even a successful attacker may leave without taking everything.
