Rather than trying to cover the whole battlefield, this BH9 number 09 setup concentrates most of its defensive value inside a fairly tight diamond. That makes the center look tempting, but the geometry around it creates several small decisions for an attacker before the main force can settle onto a clean route.
The central objective sits inside the busiest part of the village, surrounded by defenses that can contribute from different angles. There is very little wasted space here. Once ground troops cross into the inner area, they are likely to have several possible targets within range, and that can produce exactly the kind of hesitation the defender wants.
What stands out most is the three-part structure across the northern side. Short compartments divide that area instead of forming one continuous wall. A troop entering too far left or right may spend time dealing with a side target before turning back toward the middle. It may only add a few seconds, but those seconds matter when the rest of the army is already taking fire.
The large defensive building positioned beyond the top wall is another smart choice. Because it is separated from the core, a direct central push does not automatically remove every serious threat. An attacker has to decide whether to deal with it early or accept that it may remain active while the fight develops elsewhere.
The middle is where the design becomes uncomfortable for heavy ground armies. Defensive buildings are packed closely enough to create crossfire, yet the wall sections keep troops from moving freely between targets. A tanky unit can turn toward one side while supporting troops continue forward, weakening the group without the defender needing an elaborate trap setup.
The southern section works differently. There is more breathing room and fewer deep compartments, which may make it look like the natural entry. That is not necessarily a mistake by the designer. Starting there can draw troops through a longer central route while defenses on both flanks stay relevant. Exterior structures near the bottom also have the potential to pull individual units away from the main group.
I would not call the base equally strong against every army. Flying troops can ignore most of the wall geometry, so much of the pathing advantage disappears against an air-focused plan. A disciplined ground attacker who clears the sides before committing may also reduce the chance of troop splitting.
Still, the defensive logic is quite convincing. The goal appears to be making the center expensive to enter rather than simply hiding everything behind walls. Side compartments slow target progression, the northern threat stays independent from the core, and the compact middle keeps several defenses involved at once. Against players who deploy quickly without shaping the funnel first, those small disruptions can pile up fast and turn an otherwise strong push into an awkward cleanup.
