TH10 Clan War Base #5: Multi-Compartment Defense Built Around Three-Star Denial
TH10 Clan War Layout #5 uses a multi-compartment structure with the Town Hall offset toward the right side of the defensive core. Looking at the actual base, the design seems more interested in controlling the route through the village than creating one huge central bunker. The Town Hall, Inferno Towers, Air Defenses, storages, and supporting defenses sit on different lines, forcing an attacker to solve several sections separately.
That makes the Clan War label appropriate. The base may allow progress early, but a clean entry does not necessarily translate into an easy three-star finish.
The Town Hall complicates a straight core push
The Town Hall is positioned inside the stronger defensive network but slightly away from the exact center.
That offset matters. A ground army entering the middle may find several equally attractive targets before reaching the Town Hall. If the funnel is loose, part of the force can drift sideways while the main group keeps pushing inward.
From the defender’s perspective, that is useful. A split army receives less efficient spell support, and surviving defenses gain more time to work.
The Town Hall therefore acts as an objective the attacker must plan around rather than simply a building sitting at the end of a straight lane.
Multiple compartments create repeated defensive phases
The wall network divides the base into several smaller sections instead of one open core.
That gives Layout #5 depth. Breaking the first compartment still leaves another defensive pocket ahead, and troops may need to change direction before reaching the next high-value target.
This can create subtle time pressure. An attack may look healthy halfway through yet still struggle if heroes and supporting troops finish in different areas.
For war defense, that is often enough. The base does not need to destroy everything immediately if it can make the final cleanup inefficient.
Air and Inferno coverage remains staggered
The Air Defenses form staggered coverage around the core, while the Inferno Towers act as separate high-value anchors.
That spacing reduces the chance of one spell sequence neutralizing too much defensive value at once.
Queen Charge LavaLoon may be able to remove an important section, but the remaining air route still needs careful planning. Hog or Miner Hybrid can also threaten the layout if the attacker keeps troop movement predictable.
Some compact pockets may offer useful chain value to Electro Dragon-style pressure in mixed-level situations, although the wider spacing between sections prevents the whole village from behaving like one dense block.
The top edge is the main pressure point
The top edge appears to be the easiest place to establish a funnel.
The bigger weakness comes when that funnel becomes too wide. If several adjacent compartments are pressured at once, the base can lose its staged defensive structure faster than intended.
There is a tradeoff, though. A wide entry can also split the main army. If one group moves toward the core while another remains clearing the outside, the layout may recover valuable time.
Why Layout #5 works for Clan War
The strongest quality of TH10 Clan War Base #5 is that the Town Hall route, core entry, and cleanup do not naturally become one continuous attack path.
Its offset objective, multi-compartment walls, staggered Air Defenses, and separated Infernos support an anti-three-star strategy focused on pathing disruption, defensive persistence, and time pressure.
