TH15 Farming Base #3: Layered-Square Defense Built Around Storage Separation
TH15 Farming Layout #3 uses a layered-square structure with the Town Hall slightly offset toward the lower side of the core. After studying the actual layout, the farming strategy seems less about building one impossible central compartment and more about making a raider work for each valuable section separately.
The resource buildings do not all sit on the same path. Gold and Elixir Storages are spread through different layers of the base, while the Town Hall and high-damage defenses remain protected deeper inside. That gives the layout a clear purpose: one successful entry may collect some loot, but it should not automatically unlock the rest.
The layered core protects resources in stages
The most noticeable defensive feature is the square-within-square wall structure around the center.
Instead of one large compartment, the base creates several defensive layers. Troops that break the outside line still have to cross another wall section before reaching the deeper storages and Town Hall area.
For a farming defense, this kind of depth can be valuable.
The first storage may fall fairly early, but the next one asks for more travel and another period under defensive fire. By the time troops reach the inner resource pockets, some support units may already be gone and heroes may have lost a significant amount of health.
The layout is essentially trying to make every additional piece of loot more expensive than the last.
Storage placement makes one-sided raids less rewarding
The resource buildings are positioned along different paths instead of forming one convenient line.
This is important because a farming base does not need to save every storage to be useful. If one side of the village is breached while storages on another side remain protected, the layout has already limited the damage.
The high hit points of the storages also help defensively. Troops can spend valuable seconds attacking them while nearby Infernos, X-Bows, and other defenses continue applying pressure.
So the storages are not merely being protected—they also help protect the core around them.
Air and Inferno coverage forces separate decisions
The Air Defenses are spread across opposite sections, while the Inferno Towers support different routes into the center.
That spacing prevents the defensive network from becoming one tidy target.
A control spell affecting one Inferno does not necessarily solve another section. The same principle applies against Dragons or LavaLoon: one air lane may begin to weaken while another still protects a different storage pocket.
Against Root Riders or Queen Charge Hybrid, the layered compartments serve a similar purpose by forcing the attacking formation to keep working through separate defensive zones.
The left edge is the main structural concern
The left edge appears to be the most accessible side of Layout #3.
From the defensive perspective, this is where the base needs to avoid giving away a cheap straight route. The tactical weakness is a disciplined corner funnel that can line troops up through two wall layers.
If that happens too cleanly, the layered-square structure loses some of its defensive depth.
That makes the left-side defenses especially important. They need to cost the raid something—time, hero health, spells, or troop strength—before the deeper storage network becomes exposed.
Why Layout #3 works for Farming
The strongest quality of TH15 Farming Base #3 is that its valuable buildings sit on different paths.
The slightly lower Town Hall, separated resource pockets, layered walls, divided Inferno pressure, and spread anti-air coverage all support the same defensive goal: prevent one clean entry from collecting nearly all of the available loot.
