TH15 Farming Base #18: Multi-Compartment Loot Defense with Deep Storage Protection

TH15 Farming Layout #18 is built around a dense multi-compartment core where the Town Hall and the most valuable resource buildings sit behind several defensive layers. After studying the actual layout, the main idea appears pretty clear: this base is not trying to protect every storage equally. Instead, it makes a raider work progressively deeper into the village if they want to collect a large share of the available loot.

That is exactly what a farming defense should try to do. Losing one or two resource buildings is acceptable if the rest remain protected long enough for the defenses—and eventually the clock—to matter.

The storage line works as an extra defensive layer

The Gold and Elixir Storages are positioned through different sections around the inner core rather than being stacked together in one easy pocket.

This creates several layers of resource protection.

Even when one storage compartment falls, another valuable section remains behind additional walls and defensive coverage. The Town Hall also sits near the middle of this network, meaning troops moving toward it are likely to remain exposed to several defenses rather than reaching an isolated objective.

I like this approach for farming because it reduces the chance of one successful push collecting most of the important loot at once.

The compartments are designed to slow movement

The wall pattern is one of the strongest defensive features of Layout #18.

Several small and medium compartments surround the central resource area. They create repeated transitions instead of giving troops one open path across the village.

That extra travel matters.

A group moving toward one storage may begin separating from troops targeting another compartment. Once that happens, the raid becomes less efficient even if plenty of units are still alive.

Against Root Riders or another heavy ground army, the walls themselves may not provide the full protection. The bigger defensive benefit is breaking the army into smaller groups and making heroes or supporting troops arrive at different times.

Air coverage protects the core from several angles

The Air Defenses appear staggered around the central area rather than concentrated on one side. The Inferno Towers also function as separate high-value defensive anchors.

This spacing helps preserve defensive pressure.

A single Freeze, Overgrowth, or similar spell is less likely to neutralize every major threat at once. Against Dragons or LavaLoon, one storage area may still remain protected by active defenses even after another section begins to collapse.

The same principle helps against Queen Charge Hybrid: removing one pocket does not immediately expose the entire resource core.

The top side has an important defensive job

The top edge looks like the most accessible outer section, so defensively it needs to make the opening cost something.

That cost could be time, hero health, troops, or spell investment.

Interestingly, the layout can also benefit if a raid becomes too wide. Troops may start entering adjacent compartments instead of staying concentrated on one route. That split slows the progression from one storage pocket to another and gives the deeper defenses more time.

This is where Layout #18’s multi-compartment design becomes especially useful.

Why Layout #18 works for Farming

The strength of TH15 Farming Base #18 is not that every storage is impossible to reach. Its strength is that the loot is protected in stages.

The central Town Hall, separated storage pockets, staggered Air Defenses, divided Inferno coverage, and compartment-heavy walls all support the same defensive purpose: make full resource collection slower and more expensive than taking only part of the loot.
