TH15 Farming Base #5: Layered-Square Defense Built to Protect Loot in Depth

TH15 Farming Layout #5 uses a layered-square structure with the Town Hall slightly offset toward the upper side of the core. After looking closely at the base itself, the defensive idea seems centered on making every additional storage harder to reach than the previous one.

The village is not built around a single overloaded compartment. Instead, walls create several square layers, while Gold and Elixir Storages are positioned in different sections of the defensive network. For farming, that is a sensible approach. One area may fall, but the remaining resources should still require more time, more wall access, and another round of defensive pressure.

The layered squares create defensive depth

The most noticeable feature is the wall structure.

Rather than giving troops one direct path through the village, Layout #5 creates successive defensive layers around the Town Hall and storage pockets. Breaking the first wall does not immediately expose the center. Another compartment, another group of defenses, and often another high-hitpoint building are waiting behind it.

That extra travel matters.

A farming base does not necessarily need to stop a raid at the perimeter. If the first storage falls but the next three remain protected long enough, the layout is still doing its job.

Storages are part of the defensive structure

The Elixir and Gold Storages are spread through different sections rather than stacked together.

Because storages can absorb a fair amount of damage, they also give nearby defenses more time to work. A group of troops may spend several seconds clearing one valuable building while an Inferno Tower, X-Bow, or another defense continues firing from a neighboring pocket.

This creates a useful farming tradeoff: resources are valuable targets, but reaching them also slows the raid.

The Town Hall benefits from being slightly offset as well. It remains inside the protected network without becoming the only meaningful objective in the core.

Air and Inferno coverage avoids one obvious weakness

The Air Defenses and Inferno Towers are not grouped into one tidy block.

That spacing appears intentional. It means the defense is less likely to lose several major threats at the same moment. Different compartments maintain their own pressure, which is important when the goal is protecting resources across the whole village rather than defending one central point.

Against Dragons or LavaLoon, separate air-pressure zones can keep another storage section dangerous even if one side begins to collapse. Root Rider and heavy ground armies face a different problem: the front line may move quickly, but heroes and support troops can become stretched across the layered squares.

The left edge is the main defensive concern

The left edge looks like the most manageable side of the layout, so defensively it deserves the most attention.

The real danger is a disciplined corner funnel that creates a straighter route through two wall layers. If that happens too cheaply, some of the defensive depth disappears and several storage pockets become easier to connect.

This side therefore needs to make early progress costly—through defensive overlap, hidden traps, hero pressure, or simply enough delay to preserve the deeper resource sections.

Why Layout #5 works for Farming

The strength of TH15 Farming Base #5 is that resource protection happens gradually.

Its layered walls, separated storages, offset Town Hall, distributed Infernos, and staggered Air Defense coverage all support the same goal: make each extra storage cost more time and attacking strength than the first.
