TH5 Farming Base number 3 – Layered Loot Protection and Compact Core Analysis
This TH5 farming base keeps the village fairly tight, but the layout does not hand an attacker every important resource from one entry. The Town Hall sits inside the protected area, while the two Elixir Storages are split between different sections of the base. That separation may be the most useful part of the design for everyday farming.
One Elixir Storage is positioned toward the upper side of the layout, while the other sits closer to the bottom. An attacker coming from one direction might reach the first storage without too much trouble, but collecting the second requires the army to keep moving through the base. Gold is also kept inside the defended structure rather than being left around the perimeter.
The walls create several smaller lanes instead of one completely open center. I think this is where the layout becomes more interesting. Giants entering from one side may lock onto a nearby Cannon or Archer Tower and start moving away from the route the attacker expected. Goblins, Archers, or Wizards behind them can then stop on a storage or another building.
If that happens, the army begins to stretch out.
For a farming attack, that is useful to the defender because many players are trying to get resources quickly without spending a large army. Making those troops split or forcing another wall break can be enough to protect part of the remaining loot.
The storages themselves provide a useful delay. They take much longer to destroy than collectors and other smaller structures. While troops spend several seconds hitting one, nearby defenses continue firing. At TH5, where farming armies are often relatively cheap, those extra seconds of damage may become significant.
Splash pressure should help around the middle too. The Mortar and Wizard Tower can punish groups of lower-health troops once they move past the easier outside buildings. Goblins rushing toward a storage, for example, may collect some loot but struggle to survive long enough to reach another compartment if they remain grouped together.
The defensive buildings are also spread across several sides of the layout. That prevents the base from relying on one overloaded corner. An attacker who removes a defense on the left can still remain under fire from the center or right side while troops continue toward the Town Hall.
There are some weaknesses. The base is compact, so a strong army that reaches the inner area with most of its troops still alive could move between important targets fairly quickly. Some buildings outside the walls also provide easy percentage and can help an experienced player set up a clean funnel.
Still, for a TH5 farming base, the idea is practical. Its strength comes from separating the storages, slowing movement through small compartments, using high-hitpoint buildings as defensive buffers, and keeping enough overlapping fire around the resource area to make a full loot sweep more expensive. It may not stop every raid, but forcing the attacker to leave even part of the stored resources behind is already a useful result for a farming layout.
