TH7 Farming Base number 1 – Layered Core and Resource Protection Analysis
This TH7 farming base takes a compact approach to resource protection, but it does not simply squeeze every valuable building into one central room. The Town Hall sits near the middle, while the Gold and Elixir Storages are divided between different parts of the inner layout. That separation may be the most useful feature here, because an attacker who reaches one storage still has walls and defenses between them and the remaining loot.
The two Elixir Storages are kept apart rather than placed side by side. Gold Storages are also positioned in separate sections around the center. In practical terms, a raid coming from the left might collect one valuable target fairly early, but sweeping across the base for the rest requires more troop movement and another commitment into defended territory.
I also like the way the walls break up the interior. The layout uses several smaller compartments instead of one wide-open core. Ground troops can enter successfully and still end up going in different directions.
Giants, for example, may lock onto a nearby Cannon or Archer Tower while Goblins or Wizards behind them stop to attack a storage. If the funnel was rushed, the army can start separating before the Town Hall is even reached. That is exactly the kind of small mistake a farming base can take advantage of.
The storages themselves help with this defensive idea. They have plenty of hit points, so attackers usually spend longer destroying them than they would a collector or Army Camp. While troops are standing on a storage, nearby defenses get several extra seconds to keep firing. It sounds minor, but those delays add up when the attacker has to repeat the process in different compartments.
Splash damage also appears to cover the interior reasonably well. Wizard Towers and Mortars can punish groups of lower-health troops once they move past the easier outer buildings. A cheap Goblin-heavy raid may grab one storage, for instance, but keeping that group alive long enough to reach the opposite side is a different challenge.
Air protection is kept away from the simplest edge access as well. At TH7, Dragon attacks are always something to consider, so having the main anti-air defenses inside the wall structure is useful. Air troops generally need to travel through several buildings before reaching those defenses, while Archer Towers can keep adding damage from other angles.
There are a few trade-offs. The center is fairly compact, meaning a strong army that reaches it with plenty of troops still alive could take several important targets in a short period. Some buildings around the outside also offer easy percentage. The overall shape is fairly readable too, so an experienced attacker may identify a preferred entry after studying it.
Still, as an everyday TH7 farming base, the layout makes sense. Its defense is built around splitting the valuable storages, forcing repeated wall entries, slowing troops with high-hitpoint buildings, and keeping defensive pressure active around the core. It may not stop every raid, but it appears well designed to make taking all of the resources much less convenient than simply breaking into one side.
