TH7 Clan War Base number 1 – Layered Core and Anti-Three-Star Defense Analysis

This TH7 Clan War base has a fairly narrow, vertical structure, but it does not rely on one oversized central compartment. Instead, the village is broken into several connected sections, with the Town Hall sitting close to the middle. An attacker can get through the first wall, but that does not immediately open the entire base.

That layered setup is probably the part I like most.

The Town Hall is protected by surrounding walls and defensive buildings, so a direct rush toward the center still requires commitment. Ground troops moving inward have several possible targets in front of them, and that can make pathing less predictable than the clean shape initially suggests.

Take a Giant-based attack as an example. Giants may enter from one side and turn toward the nearest Cannon, Archer Tower, or other defense. Wizards following behind do not necessarily take the same route; they may stop on a storage or another building. If the funnel is even slightly off, the tanks can move ahead while the support troops are left behind under defensive fire.

The internal compartments seem designed to encourage that problem. The upper section forms its own defended pocket, while the middle and lower areas contain additional walls that troops have to work around or break through. Reaching one compartment successfully does not guarantee a smooth transition into the next.

Storages also play a useful defensive role. Since resources themselves are irrelevant during a Clan War attack, Gold and Elixir Storages can essentially be treated as large hitpoint barriers. Troops that stop to destroy one remain exposed longer, giving nearby defenses a few extra seconds to deal damage. At TH7, those seconds can matter quite a bit.

Splash damage appears sensibly protected too. Wizard Towers and Mortars are positioned within the main structure rather than being handed to the attacker on the outside. This should help against groups of Wizards, Archers, or other lower-health troops that bunch up behind tanks. Once the support troops start disappearing, the remaining Giants have a much harder job.

Air defense is another important consideration at TH7, especially with Dragon attacks being such a common threat. The important anti-air coverage appears to be kept inside the wall network. That should force Dragons or Balloons deeper into the base before they can remove it, while Archer Towers continue applying damage from different angles.

There are a few trade-offs. Several outside structures offer relatively easy percentage, and the layout is fairly symmetrical through the middle. A patient attacker may eventually identify a clean route toward the Town Hall. If a strong army reaches the core with most of its troops intact, several important buildings are also close enough to fall quickly.

Still, this looks like a sensible TH7 Clan War defense. Its strength comes from layered compartments, protected splash damage, storage-based stalling, central Town Hall coverage, and troop pathing that can punish a weak funnel. It may not stop every well-planned attack, but it appears built to make a clean three-star much harder than simply breaking the first wall and pushing straight through.
