TH7 Ranked Base number 2 – Offset Compartments and Core Defense Analysis
This TH7 Ranked base does not use the perfectly mirrored diamond shape that appears in many layouts. Instead, the compartments are slightly offset from one another, with the Town Hall held near the middle and separate defensive pockets extending toward the top, left, right, and bottom. That irregular structure may make the first attack decision a little less obvious.
The Town Hall is protected inside its own central area rather than sitting against an outside wall. More importantly, getting through one compartment does not immediately expose the whole core. An attacker still has to navigate around walls and defensive buildings before gaining comfortable access to the center.
That should help against ground attacks.
Giants entering from one side are likely to follow whichever defense becomes available first. Because Cannons, Archer Towers, and other targets are distributed between separate compartments, the Giants may turn sideways rather than moving exactly where the attacker intended. Wizards or Archers behind them can then stop on storages or other buildings. Once the tanks and support troops separate, the attack becomes much easier to damage.
The two Elixir Storages are deliberately kept apart, with one positioned toward the center-left and the other lower in the layout. Gold Storages are separated too. In Ranked play, these buildings are useful less for protecting resources and more for their high hit points. A storage takes time to destroy, and every second troops spend hitting it gives nearby defenses another chance to fire.
Splash damage appears well positioned to take advantage of those delays. Mortars cover broad sections of the village, while Wizard Towers sit deeper inside where groups of support troops are more likely to gather. A Giant-and-Wizard push might enter cleanly at first, but if the Wizards bunch up around a storage, splash damage can quickly reduce the attacking force.
Air defense deserves particular attention at TH7. Dragon attacks are always something a defensive layout has to consider, and the important anti-air buildings here appear to be protected within the wall structure instead of placed on the perimeter. Dragons should have to travel through other buildings before reaching them, while Archer Towers contribute additional damage from multiple directions.
The top compartment also adds some useful depth. It sits beyond the immediate Town Hall area, meaning an attacker who focuses completely on the center can still have defended buildings left afterward. That may create cleanup pressure late in the battle.
There are a few compromises. Several structures outside the walls provide easy percentage, and the central section is compact enough that a strong push could gain good value once it reaches the core. The wall pattern is irregular, but not so complicated that an experienced attacker cannot eventually read it.
Still, the defensive idea is sensible for TH7 Ranked play. The layout relies on offset compartments, central Town Hall protection, storage-based delays, protected splash damage, and troop pathing that can punish an imperfect funnel. Rather than depending on one defensive trick, it tries to make the attacker lose control gradually as the army moves deeper into the base.
