TH7 Clan War Base number 9 – Compartment and Anti-Three-Star Defense Analysis

This TH7 Clan War base looks a little messy at first glance, and I mean that in a good way. The compartments are not arranged in a perfectly mirrored pattern, so an attacker has to spend a moment figuring out where the easiest entry actually is. For war defense, that small bit of uncertainty can be useful.

The Town Hall sits well inside the wall structure instead of being left near an exposed edge. Reaching it normally means getting through at least one defended compartment first, and the buildings around the center give attacking troops several possible targets. A direct push is possible, but it is not quite as simple as opening one wall and walking straight to the Town Hall.

Ground pathing may be one of the stronger parts of the layout. The walls divide the base into several medium-sized sections, with Cannons, Archer Towers, Mortars, and other defenses spread between them. Giants entering from one side could turn toward the nearest defense rather than follow the exact route the attacker planned. Meanwhile, Wizards or Archers behind them may stop to clear storages and other buildings.

Once those groups separate, the attack becomes much easier to punish.

The Gold and Elixir Storages are also useful here even though loot protection does not matter during Clan War. Their high hit points allow them to act as buffers. Troops can spend several seconds destroying a storage while nearby defenses keep firing. At TH7, where armies have less overall power than at higher Town Hall levels, those extra seconds may be surprisingly valuable.

Splash damage is another important part of the design. Mortars and Wizard Towers appear positioned deeper inside the base rather than being handed over immediately at the perimeter. That should help against attacks using Giants with groups of Wizards or Archers behind them. If the supporting troops bunch together inside a compartment, splash damage can quickly weaken the push.

Air defense deserves attention too, especially at TH7 where Dragon attacks are a common concern. The key anti-air defenses are placed within the main wall structure, forcing Dragons or Balloons to travel into defended territory before removing them. Archer Towers add more air coverage from different directions, so an attacker cannot rely entirely on one easy perimeter approach.

Outside buildings also have a purpose. They provide some straightforward percentage, which is a downside, but they can interfere with funneling. A few troops placed too far apart may start walking around the base rather than entering the intended compartment.

The layout is not perfect. Some defensive sections are relatively close together, so a strong push that reaches the middle with enough troops alive could gain considerable value. The base also becomes easier to understand once an experienced attacker studies the wall pattern carefully.

Still, for a TH7 Clan War base, the defensive idea makes sense. It relies on central Town Hall protection, uneven compartments, storage-based delays, splash damage, and troop pathing that can break an attack into smaller groups. It may not prevent every three-star, but it appears well designed to punish rushed deployment and poorly planned funnels.
