TH8 Clan War Base number 7 – Layered Diamond Defense Analysis

This TH8 Clan War base uses a wide diamond structure with the Town Hall kept well inside the defensive shell. What I like about the design is that it does not depend on one giant central compartment. Instead, attackers have to move through several smaller sections before they can properly control the middle of the base.

The Town Hall sits close to the center, surrounded by walls, defenses, and other high-hitpoint buildings. A direct push toward it may look possible from the bottom or either side, but the path is not completely open. Even after the first wall is broken, there is another layer of buildings and defensive fire waiting behind it.

That layered structure is probably the strongest part of this layout.

The left and right sides contain separate pockets that can pull defense-targeting troops away from the center. Giants, for example, may move toward a Cannon or Archer Tower in one side compartment instead of continuing toward the Town Hall. If the attacker has not built a clean funnel, Wizards and other support troops can begin walking around the outside while the tanks push in alone.

The inner defenses also appear arranged to overlap rather than defend isolated corners. Mortars can pressure groups of troops from deeper positions, while Wizard Towers cover areas where attackers are likely to bunch together. That combination may be especially effective against the kind of Giant-and-Wizard attacks commonly seen around TH8.

Storages are used intelligently too. In a Clan War base, protecting Gold and Elixir is not really the goal, so these buildings can serve as extra hitpoint barriers. An attacking group that stops to destroy a Gold Storage or Elixir Storage is giving nearby defenses more time to fire. It sounds minor, but a few extra seconds of damage can be enough to remove Wizards behind the tanks or weaken Giants before they reach the next compartment.

Air defense appears to be protected from immediate removal as well. The important anti-air buildings are not simply placed around the outer edge. An attacker using Dragons or Balloons is likely to need to enter the actual defensive structure before eliminating the main air coverage. Archer Towers then provide additional damage from several directions.

The outer wall shape also creates some interesting pathing. Because the base stretches horizontally, troops deployed too widely can drift toward the left or right sides instead of heading into the center. That may waste time and, more importantly in war, break the attacking army into smaller groups.

There are a few trade-offs. The layout is fairly symmetrical, so an experienced player may understand the general defensive pattern after studying it. The central area is also relatively compact. If a strong group reaches the core with spells and enough health remaining, several important buildings could fall quickly.

Still, this looks like a practical **TH8 Clan War defense**. Its main strength comes from layered compartments, central Town Hall protection, overlapping splash damage, high-hitpoint buildings used as delays, and side sections that can disrupt troop pathing. It may not stop every carefully planned attack, but it should punish rushed entries and make a clean three-star considerably less straightforward.
