TH8 Clan War Base number 9 – Diamond Compartment Defense Analysis
This TH8 Clan War base uses a compact diamond shape with the Town Hall buried in the middle, and that immediately tells you what the layout is trying to do: make a clean three-star attack uncomfortable. It is not relying on one oversized core. Instead, the base divides the important defensive buildings between several connected compartments, forcing ground troops to keep changing direction as they move inward.
The Town Hall is placed inside its own central area, surrounded by walls and other structures rather than sitting close to an easy outer entry. That should make a direct Town Hall rush more expensive. Even after the first wall is opened, an attacker still has to work through another layer before getting reliable access to the center.
The compartment design is probably the strongest part of the layout. There are separate pockets on the left, right, top, and bottom, with defenses positioned between them. Giants or other defense-targeting troops may be pulled sideways instead of moving directly toward the core. If the attacker creates a poor funnel, support troops can easily drift toward outside buildings while the tanks continue deeper by themselves.
I also like how the storages are used here. In a war base, protecting loot is not the priority, so Gold and Elixir Storages can work more like high-hitpoint barriers. Several are placed in front of or beside important defenses. Troops may spend valuable seconds destroying a storage while nearby Cannons, Archer Towers, Wizard Towers, or other defenses continue firing.
Splash damage appears reasonably spread across the base too. Wizard Towers cover different sections instead of being stacked in one area, while Mortars provide pressure from deeper positions. That should help against attacks where Wizards, Archers, or other lower-health support troops bunch up behind Giants.
Air protection seems fairly sensible for TH8 as well. The main anti-air defenses are kept inside the wall structure rather than exposed around the edge. An air attacker is likely to need a proper path through the village before removing all of them. Archer Towers also contribute coverage from several angles, which helps reduce obvious dead zones.
The outer buildings play a useful role in funnel disruption. Builder Huts, camps, collectors, and other structures are spread around the perimeter. They are easy percentage buildings, admittedly, but they can also pull troops away from the intended entry if deployment is sloppy. In a close war attack, even ten or fifteen seconds wasted around the edge can matter.
There are weaknesses. The layout is quite symmetrical, so an experienced attacker may read the structure fairly quickly. Once a strong army establishes a clean entry into one side, the compact interior could also allow several important defenses to fall in a short period.
Still, the defensive idea is solid for a TH8 war layout. Its strength comes from **central Town Hall protection, repeated compartments, storage-based stalling, distributed splash damage, and pathing that can split an attacking army**. It may not stop every well-planned attack, but it appears designed to punish rushed entries and make the third star considerably harder to secure.
