This Builder Hall 7 base number 09 does something a little different from the highly symmetrical designs at this level. The walls form a stretched, staggered network of compartments, with the Builder Hall sitting slightly left of the true center. That offset may seem minor, but it changes how troops approach the core. There isn’t one perfectly straight line through the village, and that appears to be the main defensive idea.

The Builder Hall is surrounded by several layers of useful coverage rather than sitting alone inside a large compartment. The Multi Mortar is positioned just above and to the right, while other defenses occupy the left, lower and right-side pockets. Troops rushing the Hall may reach it relatively early, but they are likely to do so while several defenses are still active. That makes the central area more dangerous than the short distance from the perimeter might suggest.

I like how the left side is divided. A few defensive targets sit at different depths, which can pull ground units away from one another. A tanky troop may move toward an inner defense while another part of the army follows something closer to the outside. Once that happens, the attacker loses the neat front-to-back formation they probably wanted.

The right flank works almost like a long side lane. Buildings are spread along separate wall sections rather than grouped inside one room. Defense-targeting troops entering from this direction may spend time moving horizontally before they ever turn toward the Builder Hall. That extra travel gives the central defenses more opportunities to fire and may also create some awkward timing between different groups of troops.

The Multi Mortar benefits from being tucked inside the interior. It cannot be removed immediately from most entry angles, so it should have time to pressure clustered units while they are still working through walls. Shorter-range defenses closer to the Hall can then take over once those troops finally move deeper into the base.

Air armies have their own decision to make. The Air Bombs sit toward the lower-right outside area, separated from the Builder Hall itself. An attacker can go after them early, but doing so means beginning farther from the main objective. Ignoring that section creates a shorter route to the core, although the Air Bombs may remain alive long enough to threaten surviving flying troops later.

Some of the exterior structures also act as useful distractions. Buildings around the upper-left, lower and right edges can attract troops that are deployed too widely. A unit walking several tiles toward an outside target may not sound like a major defensive win, but those short delays can leave the central push noticeably weaker.

There is a trade-off. The Builder Hall is not buried behind several complete wall layers, and a well-planned funnel could get a healthy group into the center fairly quickly. Once that happens, multiple important defenses are close enough to be removed in succession.

Still, the defense has a clear identity. Its strength comes from staggered compartments, sideways troop movement, central crossfire and small timing disruptions. It is less about creating one impossible barrier and more about making an attack gradually lose coordination before the core is fully cleared.
