This Builder Hall 9 layout number 05 takes a more spread-out approach than a typical compact box. The Builder Hall sits slightly right of center, while the walls divide the important defenses into several separate sections. Looking at the layout, that separation appears to be the main defensive idea: troops may get into the base without too much trouble, but keeping the whole army moving in the same direction is another story.
The Builder Hall is not buried behind multiple wall layers, which initially makes it look fairly accessible. The catch is the number of defensive targets around the approach. Ground troops entering from the left can easily become interested in the nearby compartments before reaching the Hall, while a push from the right has to deal with another protected defensive section.
The upper compartment is especially important because it holds the Lava Launcher away from the Builder Hall. I like this placement. An attacker who rushes directly toward the center may leave the Lava Launcher untouched, allowing it to keep pressuring slower or grouped ground troops. Power P.E.K.K.A.s and support units can take a surprising amount of punishment when they remain in the same area for too long.
On the opposite side, the Giant Cannon sits toward the lower-left edge. It is not packed directly into the core, which means a central attack does not automatically remove it. Its firing lane may become particularly troublesome when ground units line up while moving between compartments.
The Mega Tesla on the right gives that side of the layout its own high-value defensive threat. Because the stronger defenses are spread across different areas, an attacker has to make choices. Going after one major defense first usually means leaving another one active.
Pathing is where this layout may earn most of its defensive value. The walls create separate rectangular sections rather than one continuous enclosure. A Battle Machine can enter one compartment while another troop group drifts toward an outside building or nearby defense. Once the army starts splitting, the Builder Hall push becomes considerably weaker.
There is also some useful time pressure. Several buildings sit outside the main wall network, giving attackers easy percentage but also influencing the funnel. If too many troops are used for exterior cleanup, fewer remain for the core. Ignore those buildings completely, though, and surviving troops may have to travel back for them later.
The layout does have a weakness. Its compartments are fairly separated, and a patient attacker may be able to clear the exterior first and deliberately choose which defensive section to remove. The Builder Hall is also not extremely deep, so a clean funnel could create a reasonably direct route toward it.
Overall, this BH9 base seems designed around troop separation, long-lasting defensive coverage, and forcing attackers to deal with major defenses from different directions. The Lava Launcher, Giant Cannon, Mega Tesla, and central splash pressure are not all tied to one compartment, which makes a rushed attack risky. It should perform best when the attacker commits too early without first controlling the funnel, although actual results will naturally depend on defense levels, trap settings, troop upgrades, and execution.
