Anyone who has played Clash of Clans through a few anniversaries probably noticed something missing from this year's Clan Games: there is no seventh reward tier.
That caught plenty of players off guard. Previous Clashiversary celebrations have occasionally added an extra tier, so it was reasonable to assume the same thing might happen again in 2026. Once the August rewards appeared without it, questions started popping up almost immediately.
Supercell has now explained the decision, and the answer is fairly simple: the seventh tier was never meant to be a permanent part of Clan Games.
Why Is the 7th Clan Games Tier Missing?
According to the Clash of Clans team, the extra tier was essentially an anniversary bonus used during some previous Clashiversary events.
This year, Supercell decided not to place those extra rewards inside one additional Clan Games milestone. Instead, the rewards have been spread across several events running during the anniversary celebration.
The developers also say that the total value of those rewards should be greater than what players would normally have received from a seventh Clan Games tier.
That sounds good on paper, although players may judge the change differently depending on how much of the anniversary content they actually complete.
If you mostly log in for Clan Games, for example, the reward track may look weaker than expected. Someone who participates in every Clashiversary event could come away with considerably more.
Why Did Players Expect Another Tier?
The expectation did not come from nowhere.
Previous anniversaries have trained players to look for special bonuses during August. During the 12th Clashiversary in 2024, for instance, an additional Clan Games tier was included as part of the celebration.
After seeing features like that more than once, it is easy for a temporary bonus to start feeling like a tradition.
Supercell's clarification changes that interpretation slightly. The seventh tier appears to be something the team can use when it suits a particular anniversary rather than a guaranteed yearly reward.
That also means it may return in the future. Nothing announced so far suggests the bonus tier has been permanently retired.
Where Are the Extra Clashiversary Rewards?
Clashiversary 2026 is not centered entirely around Clan Games.
The August celebration includes several activities, including the Clash of Cards event and other limited-time rewards and challenges. Clan Games themselves are scheduled for August 22 to August 28, 2026.
One of the bigger events this month is Clash of Cards, where players can collect troop cards, complete sets, trade duplicates with Clanmates and earn rewards.
This wider event structure appears to be what Supercell means when it says the anniversary rewards have been distributed across multiple activities.
There is a small trade-off here. A seventh Clan Games tier is easy to understand: your Clan reaches the target, and you choose a reward. Spreading the same value across several events can require more attention, more logins and possibly more time.
For highly active players, that may not be a problem. More casual players may have preferred getting one larger bonus from Clan Games.
Are the 2026 Rewards Actually Better?
Supercell says they are, at least in terms of overall value.
Still, "better" is subjective in Clash of Clans.
A player trying to rush an upgrade before Clan War League may value a Book or Rune far more than a cosmetic reward. Another player might care more about limited decorations, skins or anniversary collectibles.
So while the combined rewards may technically be worth more, that does not necessarily mean every Chief will prefer the new format.
Personally, I can understand why the missing tier caused confusion. When something appears during several anniversaries, players naturally begin expecting it. At the same time, spreading rewards across the month could make Clashiversary feel more active instead of turning Clan Games into the only major reward moment.
What Should Players Do?
For Clashiversary 2026, the safest approach is not to judge the anniversary rewards by Clan Games alone.
Check the Events tab regularly, complete the available anniversary challenges and keep an eye on limited-time activities such as Clash of Cards. Some rewards may be easy to miss if you only log in for your usual attacks.
The 7th Clan Games reward tier is not coming this Clashiversary, but Supercell says its value has effectively been moved elsewhere.
Whether that turns out to feel better will probably depend on how much of the celebration you play.
